That adds up to between 37,000 to 137,000 unable to get work. Belzer estimated their lost wages would be from $8 billion to $37 billion. 8 billion illegals divided by 37 thousand equals $216,216. 8 billion illegals divided by 137 thousand equals $58,394.
Hmmmmm. $58K - $216K, I didn't know an illegal day laborer could pull in that mucho dinero. But, maybe my math is off.

...a study commissioned by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce says. I couldn't continue reading. We know their agenda.

No, I think we used to call it “fuzzy” math. Yours is fine, I’m sure.....

and legal workers billions in lost wages What a load of BS. Not cracking down on illegals has already cost legals hundreds of billions in lost wages.

And a crackdown on crack dealers costs them money too.

I noticed they didn’t tackle the billion$ spent on illegals - by us - for their “free” medical care....nor the billion$ in welfare, et al., nor the billion$ spent keeping them up in prisons that are still much better than the homes they came from in Mexico. I am so weary of liberals telling me how good it is for me when someone breaks into my home and raids the quickly emptying fridge.

The words “alien” are not mentioned once in context with the phrase “illegal worker”. This article is nothing but a lie.
To: 300magnum
He also used the Homeland Security's estimates that 2 percent of legal workers a year would lose their jobs because they can't resolve the Social Security mismatch.
That's patently ridiculous. As Rush says, "Don't buy the premise."

Shouldn’t the title read - “Employers cost themselves $billions by knowingly breaking the law”?

Illegal worker crackdown would SAVE AMERICAN TAXPAYERS $10's if not hundreds of $ BILLIONS

The government’s plan to crack down on illegal workers could cost employers more than $1 billion a year and legal workers billions in lost wages, a study commissioned by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce says.
Tuff.
Shouldn’t have them on the payroll anyway. It costs the US way more to keep ‘em.

Ah, how nice of the Chamber to commission a study on the cost to businesses from cracking down on illegals.
I'm breathlessly awaiting a follow-up study by the Chamber on the cost to the average Joe Taxpayer who is currently carrying the elephantine costs of welfare, free hospital, education, food stamps etal afforded to these same illegals.
At least, "business" get to pass the costs on to their clients and customers. We schlumps get to pass the costs on to our offspring if we survive that long.
