...McCain, the Republicans' presumptive presidential nominee, had appealed to the state party to withdraw the ad, saying he wanted to run a respectful campaign....

Precisely why McQueeg will lose (that plus he's really a Democrat).

Well, it’ll be the LAST respectful campaign for about a century. If the republic even survives a century.

Methinks this is some good cop bad cop strategery. McCain has to run an unconventional campaign to have a chance. He doesn't have, and will not have, the $$ that the 'rats and left will spend. As such, he is campaigning hard all over for free media, going into the opposition's lairs (Selma, union strongholds etc.) and actually winning some over.

As to this ad, had McCain not complained, the ad would not have gotten nearly the coverage it did, keeping the Wright issue alive (as it should be). It also fits with his bucking the party maverick image that had the presstitutes (probably regrettably now) making him acceptable to many 'rats. Lastly, with little funds, he is going to be hammered by leftist 527 hit jobs. Let's see if the great uniter Obama has as much "class" in condemning these ads.

In short, we all need to avoid knee jerk "there he goes again" reactions to his public stances (his comments on Katrina being the most recent). Hillary and her goons are going to do the dirty work for at least the next two months and I think that McCain's campaign has a game plan that will not give us red meat but will be fulfilling in the end. Heaven help us if they are not successful.....

Whew, shades of 2009 to 2017, here we go. John will singlehandedly destroy Conservatism.

Bummer. Republicans deserve to lose every election if they’re determined to be cowed by their adversaries.

This ad did get nationwide publicity for just a few plays in NC.

Good strategy.

Yep. It was a good move. Dean now looks foolish because he tried to run with this as a failure in McCain’s leadership. Dean is now cut off at the knees. Again.

The GOP going soft is not going to win elections. The Democrats are in this for keeps. This does not bode well for the November elections.

Yes you can hope, but others and I sure do get discouraged watching people refuse to accept John McCain for what he is. Honestly, we have become defense of the indefensible central this year.

Once again, what would McCain have to do, to get people so pissed off they wouldn’t vote for him. Murder? I have my doubts.

That’s why I don’t understand why everyone is being so harsh on the NC division. She stood up to the “outcry” at first; but eventually, you have to decide either to play ball or go home. We don’t know what happened yet (may never know for sure).

I desperately hope you are right.

(But I still think Hillary Ilych Rodham will end up being the Dem nominee. Call me crazy...)

The woman talkingHead of the NC RepubParty has said earlier on TV that she would not pull the add and RushL had praised her onAIR for that courage. Well now she should be shamed out of office for such cowardice.
Operation CHAOS should also now turn its fury on McCain and the current crop of RNC cowards.

They got their message out more in two day of controversy than they ever could have afforded in paid media. Strategery, my man, strategery!

Honestly, it is tragic to come here and watch this. Are you for real?

You know better than that! I’ve read your posts over the years. You have generally gotten it. What has happened to you? It’s not like you’re alone either. What the hell is going on folks?

A rat dropping is a rat dropping is a rat dropping. It doesn’t take us six months worth of staring, hopeing like hell it will change, to recognize it for what it is and admit it.

Exposing racist, anti-American lunatics is the 'new racism'.

Get used to it.
