POLYGAMIST RANCH
The Dallas Morning News ^ | 4-23-08 | Robert T. Garrett and Karen Brooks

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The first of more than 400 children taken from a polygamist compound boarded buses Tuesday bound for 16 emergency shelters, children's homes and foster care agencies throughout the state, including two in North Texas.

As the buses rolled out, the children eagerly waved and smiled at television cameras. Lawyers inside the San Angelo Coliseum who were meeting with their adult or child clients said authorities allowed no one in or out while the children, 114 of them by day's end, were loaded onto the buses.

Good morning, Delphi. Are you a god, yet? Do you believe you will become a god?

Do you believe your tithes will earn you a position? Does your good works get you extra credits?

Let me quote Paul, a converted Jewish scholar...

Rom. 4: 1What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, discovered in this matter? 2If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about—but not before God. 3What does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."[a]

Rom 9: 4Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. 5However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.

30What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; 31but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it. 32Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the "stumbling stone." 33As it is written:

"See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble

and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

Eph:1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. 4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

I Said: You have gotten this one wrong too, no one cares if I think X is an abomination, and no one cares if Joseph smith thinks Y is an abomination.

U Said: Then how do YOU explain all these threads that point out the facts about Mormonism?

At one point there were lots of Discussions about the facts of the earth being flat and they even killed people who were to stringent about the earth being round. so much for majority making "right"

I Said: What God thinks is an abomination, on the other hand, now that's important. U Said: Huh? ... YOUR own Founder and subsequent Leaders sure did NOT care!

Let's see, I'll counter your unsupported, unfounded assertion with yeah, that's why he was called as a prophet, because he wouldn't listen... That's why he even at that point where he was prophesying his own death would not turn from god's commands to him, that's why he was martyred for his faith, because he would not listen to God, yeah, that's the ticket...

I Said: (will somebody get this guy cable?)

I Said: Yeah; I'll just BET you'd like me GONE from the scene; wasting away in front of an idiot box; but I'm here 'til the Lord calls me home.

Just trying to save you eternal embarrassment... Have it your way.

I Said: ...understand that in most Mormon's opinions...

I Said: Are just that.

I believe I also said "I don't have a problem with your incorrect beliefs because I know that in the grand scheme of things, my opinion (like yours) doesn't amount to a hill of beans, God's opinion is all that counts."

Wow, one post many responses, must have hit a nerve...

Please show me the word Trinity anywhere in the KJV of the Bible? Can't? Go reread this scripture, rinse repeat.

U Said: Good morning, Elsie.

U Said: You must be crazy. How can you offer this guy (DU) anything.

I was not aware that Elsie was offering me anything...

U Said: He already thinks he is on the way to godhood.

My understanding is that the rules of this Forum do not allow you to tell me or others what I am thinking please cease and desist braking the rules of the forum...

U Said: He is looking to rule over his own planet, and kingdom. He actually believes it is true.

I believe all that the bible says, and more over all that God sees fit to tell me, your characterizations however are less than accurate.

U Said: Otherwise, he has no reason to explain or justify his faith in idols, and works.

I don't believe in Idols, as for Works, do you believe the whole Bible?

If so, surely you have read James 2: 14-26... Works are required by the Bible as well as Faith, it's not one or the other.

U Said: He is sitting in front of his computer (or hers?) in magic underwear. He really believes they are empowering and protecting him from evil.

Hey!, can you see me through this thing? (humor...)

Actually, Garments do not protect you, they remind you of the covenants that protect you and help to maintain the faith that protects you by helping you to keep your covenants with God by reminding you of them. Yes, there are stories of garments protecting people, but actually, it was their faith.

U Said: His "religion" requires him to lie about things, and keep the meat from us ignorant things.

If you are ignorant, it is by choice, the church has a web site, which is very complete containing all our canonized works as well as churhc magazines and manuals going back for years. As for lying, I have never been asked to lie about anything by God or by his church of which I am a member. As for meat, it and milk it should be obvious to anyone who has spent any time learning anything that there is a right and a wrong way to learn, say math and you don't start with Calculus. There are many on this forum and other forums too which love to throw out "conundrums" they think prove the churhc is not true, like the atheist who told me God can't exist because he can't create a rock so big that he can't lift it. or those who ask inappropriate questions (like the marital status of the number five) and then say see, they can't answer. None of that "stuff" is prof, none of that stuff is Godly, non of that stuff is Christ like.

U Said: It asks him to leave his family and ride a bike for two years, while wearing white shirts and magic underwear.

God has and will ask far more of me than a mere two years spreading his word, and I am happy to serve in any way he sees fit for me to do so, he has given me so much.

U Said: His wife can only get into paradise with his blessing. She has little say in that matter, and is mainly his source of souls for his new planet.

This such a pant load, my wife will probably make it to heaven without me making it, I really married up, if you know what I mean.

U Said: Why do you think they want more wives? They want lots of children souls.

LOL! I personally hope i am never called upon to have more than one wife by God, but if he asked you, and you knew it was God asking, would you really say no?

U Said: Elsie, I am sorry to say, but I think they are misled...

That is actually one of the nicest way I've seen that put here, and I understand that you think that. Please understand that I also think that you are misled, and hope and pray the you will pray to God about your position here, and maybe even read the Book of Mormon at the same time you read the Bible to compare the Spirit of the two, the Bible even has instructions on how to know God's spirit in First John 4:1-3. U Said: but I know in whom I believe, and am persuaded that He is able to keep me against that day!

I applaud your faith, and I know in whom I believe I hope my faith and works are sufficient to call down his mercy upon me that I may be saved with him and as the bible says be a joint heir with Jesus, my lord, my God.

God bless you may you come to know him more and more each day.

THE BOOK OF JACOB
THE BROTHER OF NEPHI
CHAPTER 2

24 Behold, David and Solomon truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord.
25 Wherefore, thus saith the Lord, I have led this people forth out of the land of Jerusalem, by the power of mine arm, that I might raise up unto me a righteous branch from the fruit of the loins of Joseph.
26 Wherefore, I the Lord God will not suffer that this people shall do like unto them of old.
  27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none;
28 For I, the Lord God, delight in the chastity of women. And whoredoms are an abomination before me; thus saith the Lord of Hosts.
29 Wherefore, this people shall keep my commandments, saith the Lord of Hosts, or cursed be the land for their sakes.
30 For if I will, saith the Lord of Hosts, raise up seed unto me, I will command my people; otherwise they shall hearken unto these things.
31 For behold, I, the Lord, have seen the sorrow, and heard the mourning of the daughters of my people in the land of Jerusalem, yea, and in all the lands of my people, because of the wickedness and abominations of their husbands.
32 And I will not suffer, saith the Lord of Hosts, that the cries of the fair daughters of this people, which I have led out of the land of Jerusalem, shall come up unto me against the men of my people, saith the Lord of Hosts.

God bless you may you come to know him more and more each day.

Which god? When you state "Jesus, my lord, my God", do you refer to only one being? How do I know about thoughts? Satan revealed things to God, in conversations about Job. Read the story.

I hope my faith and works are sufficient...your characterizations however are less than accurate.

They are not. As long as you feel you must have those works, you will fail. Works are a result of faith, not a substitution. You can tithe all you want, but it won't put a penny in your celestial accounts.

Your only hope is faith in the shed blood ON THE CROSS! That faith brings eternal life, not eternal godhood.

I have misrepresented nothing. I have only allowed the truth to be revealed. You answer no questions, just re-state your party line.

Come out of your hidden temple parlors and into the light! Turn away from your heathen practices, and turn toward God.

U Said: Good morning, Delphi. Are you a god, yet? Do you believe you will become a god?
Do you believe your tithes will earn you a position? Does your good works get you extra credits?

Your attempts to be offensive are noted, and chuckled at.

I, like you, are a child of God. If you or I are faithful enough, we will become Co-Heirs with Christ. Rom. 8: 17
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
I am a child of God and he has sent me here.... It's a primary song in my church, you seem to know less of our doctrines than they do.

Works = extra credits? I can't even figure out how that applies to our doctrine.

Tithes don't earn me anything, it's a commandment see: Mal. 3:8 - 10.

U Said: Let me quote Paul, a converted Jewish scholar...

Great stuff, but it still doesn't negate James 2: 14 - 26, they are both scripture, you need faith and Works, we say Both, many say we are saying just works and that's just wrong, there are also people who want to pick and choose which parts of the Bible apply to them, and that's not right either, either the Bible is scripture, or it's not.

Again, have a great day and pray more, you can't go wrong by praying more to God.

Elsie, Elsie, Elsie, Ii they were commanded by God then what they did was follow God's word, Get it?

I know they were commanded by God, because God told me so, (the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of Prophecy...)

As for the Husband of "But one wife", LOL! The Greek reads the husband of at least one wife, and we are just not going to agree on this. You can yell all you want about the earth being flat, it won't change the shape of the earth one bit. those who want to believe you will still believe the earth is flat, and those who are interested in God's truth will chuckle and ignore you, truth ignored indeed.

Elsie has continued to offer you a clear picture. You are the one throwing mud to obscure the scene! Why not answer questions, instead of whining about calling foul?

I suggest that you have no answers that you are willing to reveal. Darkness, again? Come out into the Light. Let us know what you really believe, instead of your deceit.

I have studied your cult. I am convinced it is a cult. It is anathema to Christians. It teaches a path to godhood, bound with secret rituals, and tithing. It makes women second class, though you protest that with no facts, just your opinion.

I do not see LDS as Christians, no matter what they call themselves. They do not accept me, either!

I don't believe in Idols
