I had a close relative with Down Syndrome. People with Downs are truly angels on earth. They retain a sweetness and innocence throughout their lives.

Our neighbor had Downs Syndrome and was the sweetest kid. We moved in 1965 and I saw her recently for the first time since and she remembered me, my family and that we lived next door. She came over and put her head on my shoulder and I melted. She’s obviously older, and gray, but is still as innocent and pure as when I remember her when I was very young.
