Damage to [Ohio] state vehicle won't be probed [Ohio RAT corruption Alert]

COLUMBUS — Anthony Gutierrez turned in his state-owned SUV with unexplained damage on Oct. 10, roughly the same time frame that his employee, Cindy Stankoski, claims Gutierrez pressured her for sex and told her he got so drunk that he fell asleep at the wheel and awoke only when he hit a guardrail.

The 2004 Chevy Suburban came into the state shop needing repair to the right front fender, right front and rear doors, and right quarter panel.

Gutierrez, who managed the attorney general's vehicle fleet, did not fill out the required damage report, according to Ted Hart, a spokesman for Attorney General Marc Dann.

There also was damage to the left side of the SUV, but that is attributed to an intern who drove the car, Hart said.

Despite the apparent misuse of state property, the Ohio Highway Patrol is not investigating, Hart said.

The SUV driven by Gutierrez later became the "Sunshine Express," with flames painted on the sides and used by staff leading public records training seminars around the state.

Gutierrez, 50, is on paid leave from his $87,500-a-year job running the purchasing, maintenance and mailroom operations in Dann's office. He is accused of sexually harassing two 26-year-old junior employees, including Stankoski.

He is a close friend and neighbor of Dann and shared a suburban Columbus apartment with Dann and Communications Director Leo Jennings III.

Meanwhile, Stankoski on Friday, April 18, filed a criminal complaint with Columbus police's sexual abuse squad, according to her attorneys. The complaint has to do with Gutierrez taking her to the apartment Sept. 10, where Stankoski passed out drunk and later awoke to find her pants undone and Gutierrez next to her in his underwear.

The police department has not yet determined whether to file charges.

On Monday, Dann's office is expected to release thousands of e-mails Dann exchanged with his then-scheduler, Jessica Utovich, 28. Utovich also was at the apartment that night with Dann.

Not a mention of party affiliation. I'm sure it was merely an oversight.

The fact that nothing is being done just reinforces the fact that it’s rats.

Seems to me people have been charged and convicted on less circumstantial evidence than this...

Marc Dann (D-OH) has turned the former into the latter.

If he wasn’t such good buddies with the Atty General he’d probably already be charged with not just DUI but with sexual assault.

Only if they’re Republican.
IMO, Stankoski should’ve been responsible enough to not get drunk and pass out with a man of questionable morals.

True.

Maybe a higher official will put pressure on the AG? For justice sake...

My prediction is that Dann is going to be removed from office once all of this comes out into the open.

I was referring to a DUI.

The woman should not have put herself in that position. BUT, she does not deserve to sexually assaulted because of a bad decision.

Well I wouldn't say for justice's sake, but out of political expediency perhaps Governor Strickland (D-OH) might throw this piece of trash Marc Dann under the bus.

Anthony Gutierrez timeline
Friday, April 18, 2008

Anthony Gutierrez ran into problems both before and after Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann gave him a top management job.

2006

Sept. 22: Gutierrez is arrested for drunken driving by the State Highway Patrol near Youngstown. He registers a .149 blood-alcohol content, nearly twice the legal limit of .08.

Nov. 7: Dann is elected state attorney general.

Dec. 22: Gutierrez submits part of his application for employment at the attorney general’s office. He answers “none” to a question that asks applicants to list traffic citations or accidents in the last five years.

2007
Jan. 6: Gutierrez writes a check for $3,095.84 to the attorney general’s office in a settlement reached with the Ohio Department of Taxation for more than $5,000 owed in back taxes. Personnel records show that he also owed more than $10,000 in back federal taxes.

Jan. 9: Gutierrez pleads no contest to reckless operation in connection with the drunken driving arrest. His driver’s license is suspended through March 20.

Feb. 5: Gutierrez is hired as director of general services at $80,018 annually.

April: Gutierrez assigns himself the first of four state-owned SUVs that are part of the attorney general’s office fleet.

Sept. 10: Gutierrez spends an evening drinking and socializing with a woman he hired and supervises who later accuses him of sexually harassing her.

Sept. 16: Gutierrez’ salary is raised to $87,485 annually.

Oct. 10: Gutierrez drops off his state-owned Chevy Suburban at the office’s vehicle repair garage with extensive body damage but no explanation of how the damage occurred.

2008
March: Two women who work for Gutierrez, including the woman he was with on Sept. 10, accuse him of sexual harassment, alleging he used his authority to pressure them for sex. The complaints lead to an internal investigation.

April 7: Gutierrez is suspended with pay.

April 8: Dann removes himself from the investigation, but keeps it in house. Both accusers file federal complaints, and one is considering a criminal complaint.

Mr. Hornblatt should have taken the guilty SUV to the car wash for a detail cleanup, what with the stained back seat and all. Don’t those rascally liberals learn from BJ?

He is a close friend and neighbor of Dann and shared a suburban Columbus apartment with Dann and Communications Director Leo Jennings III.

Meanwhile, Stankoski on Friday, April 18, filed a criminal complaint with Columbus police's sexual abuse squad, according to her attorneys. The complaint has to do with Gutierrez taking her to the apartment Sept. 10, where Stankoski passed out drunk and later awoke to find her pants undone and Gutierrez next to her in his underwear.

It looks like these three boys had a "stabbin cabin" set up there in Columbus.
