A '59, but chopped and lowered, and of course with a custom paint job.

Buick left off the portholes that year so it's harder to tell the models apart.

I hope the new Buick Invicta goes over big time in China.

Rest assured, final touches on a new plant not too far from the Invicta assembly line are underway to build a new Chinese car named Envicta

“I had a ‘60 Invicta.”

I had a 65 “Duce and a Quarter” (Electra 225 with 425 CI nailhead). Bought it back in the early 80’s for $500. The thing would do 130mph while turning only about 4,500rpm. Had a lot of fun with that car. I think it had more interior room than my house at that time.

“Buick is a very prestigious nameplate in China.”

Back near the beginning of the twentieth century, there was a race across Asia, and it was won by a Buick. I guess that lore has been handed down to the present generation.

They rejected the Buick name Regal, though, because Communists supposedly squirm at the mention of royalty, but in actuality I think it’s just politics.

I hope the new Buick Invicta goes over big time in China. We need to anything we can to lower the trade deficit

Just about all the GM cars for sale in China are made in China.

The Riviera design done in China was at least original and interesting to look at, even if it was somewhat over the top, but this bulbous thing is Camry generic.

I’m not sure it helps the trade imbalance if the car is built there to begin with...
