This is a big deal. The more the Iraqi Government engages and destroys Shi’a Militias, it will win the support of the Sunnis and result in a true Iraqi government that excludes the extremists of both Sunni (AQI) and Shi’a (Sadr).

They need to implement the Swartzcoph (sp?) Doctrine: Cut off the head (Sadr) and kill it (the militia)...

“accused suspected of being involved in the attempt on the life of one of top Shiite Cleric Ali al Sistani’s representatives in Basrah.” The Sistani representative was seriously wounded in the assassination attempt.”
I guess Lil Mookie didn’t like the answer he got from Sistani! Sistani told him to disband his army after mook said he’d do whatever Sistani declared.
“Knock knock”
“Who’s there?”
“It’s the Marines Mrs. Sadr.”
“What do you want?”
“Can Lil Mookie come out and play?”

Troops entered the northern Hayaniyah district of Basra and took control in an operation lasting several hours, interior ministry spokesman Major General Abdel Karim Khalaf said. "We launched an operation in the morning. There was some exchange of fire. The operation is now over in Hayaniyah without any strong resistance," Khalaf told AFP.

I was of the belief the Mahdi Army had folded their tents, concealed their sidearms, and melted back into the crowd. What happened? Did not some of the units get the word from the top?

This constant stirring of the pot only makes John McCain, the voice against instant withdrawal from Iraq, look more appealing to the US electroate. If everything was made deadly calm, the voices for immediate withdrawal from Iraq would find support, and the favor would shift to either of the two remaining Democratican candidates. The more calm, the more the shift to Barack Mohammed (since we are no longer to refer to his given middle name) Obama, Jr., the charismatic, messianic Magic Negro, as then it would appear we are a little foolish to stay in Viet Nam, er, Iraq.

Don’t worry, the MSM will be all over the story...assuming they can find Iraqi soldiers, somewhere, who deserted.

"We have made many arrests."

Change that to "we have made many kills." and you will all be better off. Take no prisoners.
