Party bosses may ask Hillary Clinton to quit

New York, April 19: Apparently tired of bickering between presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, Democratic Party leaders are likely to pressurise the former US first lady to withdraw if she performs badly in the crucial Pennsylvania primary on Tuesday, analysts say.

However, should she decide to continue to fight until the party convention on August 24 in Denver, the party can do little about it.

But with several party leaders asserting that the vicious campaign is doing damage to the ability of the Democratic party to take on Republican candidate John McCain, pressure is likely to mount on super delegates elected officials to declare their preference so that the candidate with lesser numbers could be persuaded to withdraw.

In the debate in Philadelphia earlier this week, both candidates had said that their fight would not affect the Democratic Party's ability to defeat McCain and that they would get united once the nominee is chosen.

But the party bosses do not think so. They say if the fight continues until August, the party would lose three crucial months of campaigning apart from the fact that the Republicans would give ammunition to damage whichever candidate is nominated.

Party Chairman Howard Dean, media reports say, has been urging the super delegates to make up their mind early as there is no chance of either candidate getting enough pledged delegates. The super delegates are not committed to anyone and decide on their own.

Meanwhile, Clinton slightly shifted the line of attack on Obama, challenging his ability to manage the country when he is complaining about tough questioning during the debate in which his performance, all analysts agree, was below par.

Party bosses may ask Hillary Clinton to quit

I almost feel sorry for the sacrificial goat that has to actually ask her.

I like the justice of the Clintons agreeing to leave out those states and then losing by that margin.

I think she’ll take monmey and the senate dem leadership. It’s not like they have anybody doing anything. Reid is an empty suit, who’s one investigation away from resigning. Also, what a great patriot he has turned out to be!

From the article:

I’d love to be the fly on the wall in THAT room!

Perhaps they’re going to strap her into a straight jacket before they make the request!

Obama is proving a lightweight candidate with far-left leanings, so the Dems want to stop the bleeding.

"should she decide to continue to fight until the party convention on August 24 in Denver, the party can do little about it."

It all depends on how much dirt she's got on 'em.

I’ll be surprised if she quits. What’s the upside for her? She and Bill are loved or hated by everyone that matters already anyway. That won’t change anything. They can’t hurt or help her career if she loses or quits. And, once Obama is in her people are outta there, never to be seen again. I mean, can you see Lanny Davis on the Obama train?

There is nothing the DNC has to offer. To the Clinton Chinese Mafia, being President is worth $100 million in Graft. No other position offers those kind of bribes.

Pray for W and Our Troops

If she is talked into quitting, it will come at a high price. She’ll wait until the offer is high enough, then gracefully do the “right thing for the party and the country.” So, the question is, what carrot would entice her? SCOTUS? Cabinet? Senate Majority? Attorney General?

There's talk (ugh) she is entertaining running for Gov. of NY. Doubt Obama wants her a part of his cabinet and Reid indicated he's going nowhere. However since the Clintons come in pairs perhaps the offer must be a twofer with hubby picking one of the above.

Obama doesn't stand a chance of being elected to the Presidency. The Democrats know this. If they nominate him, they will give the White House and probably both houses of Congress to the Republicans in November.

Hillary might be able to seize the White House through criminal and unethical practices, e.g. blackmail, stuffing ballot boxes, etc., and the Democrats are definitely not above such as this (or anything else, for that matter), but they are afraid of the Clintons and what the Clintons could and would do to them (to hell with the nation and the American people!) if sufficiently empowered.

The Democrats are in a quandry. They could go either way. It all depends on whether they're delusional enough to think Obama could win or intimidated enough to support Clinton.

They are looking for a way to nominate someone else--e.g. Gore, Kerry, et al.--but they can't think of any strategy that might work, considering the circumstances.

This is a "no-win" situation.

First, the discussion of encouraging Hillary to back out will lead to blood on the floor at the Dem meetings.

Secondly, if Hillary is "pressurised" to fold, refuses to fold, and then becomes the nominee, there will be "Hell to Pay" and once again have blood on the floor of those within the party who fought her. (I'm thinking Arkancide here.)

If she loses outright, the Clinton RICO Machine will crank up all kinds of havoc anyway and never really work for Barry's campaign. Can you imagine BillyJeff on the campaign trail with Barry?!?!?! I think not.

There will be no party left to unify. I think McCain will be sworn in.
