YES, we have the moonbats on the run once again! Around 2:15pm, a moonbat whom we nicknamed Howard as in Stern, walked to his position to see nobody there! He walked across the street to talk to us. He approached me first as I was the closest. He asked me how I thought the war was going. I told him I thought it was going fairly well. He then wanted to see if he understood us. He asked if we were for peace but just in a different way. I told him that was right, that we believe in peace after victory. I told him that we mourned every loss of life but understood that nothing comes free. He then asked why gas was around $3.50 per gallon and blamed the war. My husband (Anomoly99) overheard him and was more than ready to jump in on this one!
Anomoly99 wrote: "I explained that the price of oil is based on supply and demand in a global market. A large part of the problem is that the socialists/environmentalists (RINOs included) will not allow an increase in supply. If we could drill for oil, build new refineries, build nuke plants, settle on one blend of gasoline, open up the clean coal in Utah, and get rid of this corn ethanol crap the price would come down. No response. The conversation moved to Iraq and why we are there. I noted that while the rules of engagement forced on our troops by politicians is an issue, the overall strategy is sound to defeat the islamo fascists. The head of the snake is Iran and by surrounding Iran with stable democracies, Iran will fall from within. He said that he originally supported the war but doesnt now. He asked about Saudi Arabian terrorists. I agreed that Saudi Arabia is not our friend and referred back to drilling for oil. The conversation continued but remained civil. It ended with my question of whether his definition of peace was just the lack of fighting. I asked if he believed Cuba was at peace since there is no fighting but the people are slaves. No response. I told him that peace without freedom is meaningless and freedom is worth fighting for.
It was a beautiful spring day with dark clouds looming, eventually giving way to a few sprinkles. The sun came out again and it was warm and nice. My hubby, My Hero and I were the first ones to arrive. We received a few beeps and then I turn around to see PatrioticMarineMom, her hubby and a nice surprise visit (was told the night before) by Joshua, PatrioticMarineMoms son that we are all so proud of. It was nice to see Chris and Josh together and chatting like old times. These 2 have known each other for over 10 years. Even though they dont see each other very much, they are still brothers (not biologically speaking), but in a bond that is just as solid. They have each others backs in important but different ways. PatrioticMarineMoms hubby had his USA and USMC Flag while PatrioticMarineMom displayed her Blue Star Flag for the first time. Although we usually receive many beeps, waves and thumbs up, the presence of these flags and our special Marine brings extra support! Quite a few Semper Fi shouts and salutes were really appreciated.
Shortly thereafter, our reinforcements showed up. The studs of Olney! (Mr. T and Olney-Keith) Mr. T had his USA Flag and USMC Flag which really compliments the ones already displayed. Fine Patriots in Westminster on a fine spring day! Doesnt get much better than that. Oh wait, yes it does get a bit better! Lurker Bill showed up to round our numbers to 9. We had a consistent flow of vehicles beeping and there was even a string of about 10 consecutive beeps. An ambulance driver passing by sounded his siren for us. We were honored to have a Navy Vet who fought in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars express his thanks to us. We thanked him for his service and enjoyed our conversation.

Suddenly Olney-Keith comes over from our right flank. He has spied the moonbats 400 feet (133.33 yards for all you military types) west at the main corner of Westminster. We all decide to split our forces into two fronts.
Olney-Keith and I defiantly head west with several posters and my U.S./Marine Corps flag pole at full mast. We make our way around tree branches and shoppe canopies. We arrive at the corner, deciding to cross over to the northwest corner to be closer to the moonbats where we can better verbally engage them.
A group of locals stands outside of an eatery (smoking inside eateries is prohibited in Maryland) curiously watching the moonbats. When we arrive they are pleased to see us with our posters and flags. After a brief conversation and being satisfied that the situation is in good hands they head back inside. Actually they finished their smokes.
We set out some signs against various poles, holding one each ourselves. We start to verbally engage the moonbats with: What is the Answer? to their War is not the Answer sign; and War freed the slaves, War saved the Jews, War freed millions in Iraq!; and Out of Iraq - Into Iran to their Out of Iraq sign; and telling them they couldnt take the heat at their permitted place so they cut n run where they thought they would be unopposed.

Mr. T wrote: "We received a lot more waves and honks than they got. The Semper FIs warmed out hearts. We also saw four young ladies floating around the intersection, watching both sides. We discovered later that they were from the local community college.
Finally they came over to our side. I guess they picked us because they didnt need gas masks to talk to us, plus Olney-Keith and I were the studs from Olney. They started our conversation with - What we are protesting. We explained that we are not protesting, we are supporting our troops. We did most of the talking as they intently listened. I believe they learned some things that they do not learn in college.
3PM - Set your atomic clocks as the moonbats break up.
One moonbat whom we nick named Howard as in a Howard Stern look alike took minor offense to my calling out, Hey Howard, why did you cut n run from your permitted place?. He apparently had not been informed of the change of plans. He wandered around their permitted place, talking to our primary force, eventually walking down to the moonbats corner. He apparently took the leftists bait about the Bush Lied line saying he originally supported going into Iraq but is now against being there. I believe he is really confused so next time we are against him, hell be getting some information that is slowly coming out about Husseins (No not the presidential candidate) WMDs and connections with terrorists.
It was getting late. We had to break off the conversation to reform our two fronts and debrief each other. After some good conversation among us, we all left.
On a personal note, I must mention the passing of my great uncle, LTC (Ret.) Walter J. Grabowski. He passed away on April 13, 2008 due to cancer. My Hero and I attended Uncle Walts funeral service along with my dad, brother and niece. Although a rather small gathering, it was an honor to be present for this Military funeral service. He will be dearly missed but always remembered for the caring, wonderful family man he was and for serving his country in the Army and National Guard. At the age of 65, he was even part of Desert Storm. Please keep Walter, his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
Feel free to join us any Saturday from 1-3pm. We especially need extra boots on the corner, on the 2nd and last Saturday of each month, when we counter protest the moonbats. The Westminster Gathering/FReep is located on the east side of E. Main Street opposite the library at 50 East Main Street. There is public parking on Winters Street. Follow the signs.
Please Ping to DC Chapter! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this story, Semper fi to Joshua and welcome home!
Well said!
That's a keeper.
Good work, guys! Looks like you had some decent weather.
God Bless you guys.
After only 6 months or so, the Westminster crowd has the moonbats on the run.
And, the moonbat's numbers have dropped from 12 -15 each protest, to just 3 1/2 last week.
[Mr] T
Several stories you did not tell.
First, the primary Westminster crowd is our EVERY Saturday, moonbats or not. They have “branded” their location and who they are. After we put everything away and were just standing there talking, cars were still honking. now that is impressive.
Second, the moonbats are on the run. We will track them down and counter them wherever the go. The “quackers” in Olney tried the same and they failed.
Third, the moonbats are down to 3 this week from a high of around a dozen. It sure does feel good to out number them, though there is a lot of argument that even ONE patriot supporting our troops out numbers them, no matter how many of them there are.
[Mr] T
Here are my pics of last weeks rally. I don't believe anyone needs a introduction! LOL
Thank You! I will give Joshua the message. He really appreciates everyone’s support.
Those are good. Who knew you did such good photoshopping. HeeHee
[Mr] T
I so love the encounters where the idiots get an education. You guys are doing double and triple duties these days. I sure hope our guys can mop up that mess in Iraq soon, so they can come home and you guys can stay home. Semper Fi!
That’s what I have you for, Mr. T! Seriously, I thought the report was pretty long and didn’t know how much room I had. Also, I wanted to include the really good joke Lurker Bill told to all of us as we were standing around trying to talk you guys into going out for a beer! I figured what didn’t fit up top, we could comment in posts.
This isn’t the exact joke, but as close as I could find:
“An Irishman walks into a pub. He is new to the town and does not know anyone yet. He sits at a quiet end of the bar and orders 3 beers all at once. The bartender, serves him 3 beers. The man sits quietly enjoys his pints, then orders 3 more.
Each evening he comes in and always orders 3 beers. Pretty soon the locals are talking among themselves, discussing why he always orders three beers. A few locals convince the bartender to ask the Irishman why.
SO the next time the bartender serves him he asks, “pardon my curiosity, but why do you always order beer in lots of 3”?
The irishman relays “well’ i’ve just moved here to accept a new job. I used to work with my two brothers, but we have all had to go separate ways for work. Before separating we all agreed that whenever we raised our glasses, we would drink a beer for each of our brothers as well.”
Everyone respected this and he soon became part of the nightly pub scene.
Then, one evening, he enters the pub and orders just 2 beers.
The locals are surprised. They ask the bartender to inquire. The bartender is reluctant, stating “maybe we should just leave him alone, looks like perhaps one of his brothers has passed away”.
The scene is repeated 3 nights in a row.
Peer pressure prevails and the bartender finally goes to inquire.
“ We all noticed you are only ordering 2 beers now. We assume that you have lost one of your brothers. We all want to express our condolences and let you know that if you need anything, we are here for you.”
The irishman chuckles and says “not at all, my brothers are fine.
I’ve just decided to quit drinking for Lent”
Thanks for sharing that joke, Lurker Bill. This is the most we have ever heard you talk since October of 2007!
First my condolences to you and your family for the loss of your great uncle.
You gotta admit “Howard” is a fairly nice guy. At least he’ll engage in nice conversation.
Kudos to all to all of you and the Olney “stubs”.
Great report!
But we have them on the run. So we can't give up now.
Semper Fi
[Mr] T
So, if you are losing the fight against the bully that makes sticking up for the weak kid the wrong thing to do?
TYP- I -CAL lefty.
And hence the reason they are so anxious to present the fight as losing.
Good job to you all. Fight these nut cases tooth and nail. They are more than happy to spread their diseased opinions all over the world.
Love the joke,
Love the report,
Love you all for representing us all!
Great Going!!! I’m from Westminster too and I will try to get down to see how you guys are doing.
Again, Great Job!!!
Thank you! PatrioticMarineMom and I are in Westminster every Saturday defending our troops. Sometimes it’s just the two of us, but other times our hubbies and others join us. Thanks for your suggestion. We have called them moonbats from the beginning so we stuck with that. People such as yourself know who they really are, therefore I leave it at that.
