A 33-year-old Colorado Springs woman has been questioned about a telephone call that sparked a raid at the polygamist Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints compound in western Texas two weeks ago.

Rozita Swinton was arrested at her home Wednesday night by Colorado Springs police for an incident that occurred in February. Members of the Texas Rangers were also in Colorado Springs as part of their investigation.

"The Texas Rangers were in Colorado Springs (Wednesday) as part of their investigation involving the compound in Texas. They left and have not filed any charges on Rozita Swinton as of this time," said Colorado Springs police spokesman Lt. Skip Arms.

Colorado Springs police said the arrest warrant has been sealed and refused to release any other details, reported Deseret News.

I'm no fan of the Mormons, and especially of their polygamist FLDS offshoot, but all the same, if this all happened because of a hoax....whoa, big news!

Wonder how the gubmint jackbooted einsatzgruppen will spin their way out of this?

If the warrants are bad, everything that follows is too?

I kind of thought that someone made the original call just to get enough to get a search warrant to go through the gates myself.

I wonder, if this turns out to be a hoax will all the evidence they found be inadmissible?

This has to be a duplicate or more, but the authorities have already said somebody there was underage and pregnant so Texas CPS was justified in arresting 500 people on a prank call. Nevermind the age of consent in the USA varies from 13 on up, in Texas it’s 18 so fry them all. You been pranked!

NO! This is far too important to be concerned about the Constitution.

There is case law that will decide it. Either way it is FUBAR by now.

It’s time to hold these jack-booted CPS workers responsible.

My family was the subject in CT in 2000 of a state-paid employee, fraudulent accusation.

How about making LEO check out the accuser(s) credibility first? Novel idea huh!

Childrens service (/sarcasm) services are a growth industry and the number one union growth area across this country.

I understand that under Texas law, a minor of 16 years or older is legally able to marry with parents consent. However, their leader was convicted of marrying a 14 yr old to a 19 yr old.

One problem we have is that you can’t use the Constitution only when you feel it is usefull.

I find this whole business very sad. Whether the Mormons are a sect is not at issue, but these polygamist Mormon dissenters certainly are a sect.

It’s sad for the children who are brainwashed and abused, and it’s sad for them if they are carted off by the authorities. It’s a lose-lose situation for them, a mess that is almost impossible to fix no matter what choice the authorities make.

Better than growing up Muslim, maybe, but not good. And our society has gotten to the point where the idea that marriage is an institution between one man and one woman is growing less and less taken for granted every day, owing to the machinations of the gay movement, not to speak of the Muslim polygamists who have begun imposing their views on the multi-culti idiots in the liberal establishment.

Like the McMartin trial - it will last 14 years, everyone involved will have retired and only the people will pay for it.

It's a sickening sight to see families torn apart by child "protective" services. More like home wrecking "services". There's lots of moms and kids that want to be together. It's likely the arrogant "CPS" bureaucrats think they know best.

I found a link to a story on this:

Springs woman arrested for false reporting in raid

A Colorado Springs woman was arrested on charges of false reporting to authorities and is being investigated for her alleged involvement in the call that tipped authorities off to possible abuse at the Texas polygamist compound.

Police say they arrested 33-year-old Rozita Swinton at her home on Wednesday. The Texas Rangers were in Colorado Springs apparently as part of their investigation involving the compound in Texas.

They left and have not filed any charges on Swinton and the Colorado Springs Police spokesman said he could not discuss any aspects of the Texas case.

Our sister station KMGH in Denver found out that this is not the first time Swinton has been arrested on charges of making false reports to authorities. According to records the charge against Swinton was made in connection to calls received by police in February indicating she was 13 years old and trapped in a basement-- all a lie.

It appears the cult defenders are counting chickens before they hatch.

Small world, Ms. Swinton is a Colorado State Delegate for Obama at the State Convention in May. Dunno if she will make it to the Convention. http://www.peakdems.org/obama_cd5_del.asp

‘Texas authorities needed a criminal complaint before they could get a warrant to storm the compound. They got it when they claimed a 16-year-old girl named Sarah called them for help, saying she was inside the ranch, pregnant and scared of her abusive 50-year-old husband.

One former member, who has been an outspoken critic of polygamist practices, says she thinks she may have talked to Swinton on the phone, with Swinton claiming to be Sarah’s twin sister.

Flora Jessop says the woman she believes is Rozita Swinton called again Thursday morning after Swinton bailed out of the El Paso County Jail.

“I did get her to admit to me her name was Rose,” Jessop said.’

This is SOP in the war on drugs. And, NO I DON"T ENDORSE CHILD MOLESTATION, by observing that the rule of law should be followed.
