......Most of the world operates by the law of the jungle except when they fear the consequences of doing so.....
Not true.
Religion is present most everywhere and tamed the Law of the Jungle eons ago. Liberalism is merely an attempt to remove the bonds of religion that are thought chafe.
Actually, you overstate it. Christianity makes that attrempt while other religions don’t neccesarly do the same. Fair point about liberalism though.
Not “religion” per se - Islam is about the barbaric, violent oppression of others.
Judeo-Christian based cultures, however, follow your assertion that “religion” conquers the Law of the Jungle.
No, I don’t buy into the multicultural “all religions are equal” crap.
“Religion is present most everywhere and tamed the Law of the Jungle eons ago. Liberalism is merely an attempt to remove the bonds of religion that are thought chafe.”
In the absence of religion people are likely to do whatever they think they can get away with. Religion provides an all-seeing all-knowing being who can’t be fooled and who will ultimately make you pay for your actions. A man who believes in God knows that he can never escape justice, and so he tends to behave himself.

I would put that into the “Fear of the Lord” box.
