Decatur, Illinois
My wife and I just felt a very noticeable earthquake.
Same here...I know it didn’t do that this morning...
Central Indiana took some kind of stronger wave for some reason...
Were you up when the first one hit? I thought my dog was having a seizure on our bed, it sure felt stronger but I was on the second floor.
My business is 10” concrete floor over sand, not clay like my house. To me the last one was nothing compared to the first, must be the different soil and height I bet.
No, not nearly as strong here. The one this morning caused a picture to fall off the wall and was very loud.
My cat sleeps on my bed. It was acting very strangely an hour or two before the quake hit. When the quake hit, I thought it was my 14 lb cat jumping on my bed from the dresser which could shake my bed up. I got up and turned on the lights and the cat looked very scared. But I went around the house checking doors and windows thinking the cat was upset because there was a prowler, which I have never had. I had no idea it was an earthquake until I got on Free Republic this morning. The odd thing is, the Egyptians held cats in high regards because they felt the cats had some kind of earthquake ESP. I have to think that my cat may have sensed the quake before it hit.
Wow, isn’t that strange how a few miles can be so different?
Has anyone showed up here hoping for wide spread death and destruction?
I lived for 3 years on South Mattis. Felt a quake there in ‘67 or ‘68. I think that quake was also from southen Illinois.
Goddangit.....I damn sure did but did not know it at the time.
I was up till almost 3 since I knew I could sleep in till 10 this morning.
I felt something around the time mentioned here....woke me up....felt like the rumble of a longish sonic boom.
Hannah felt it upstairs as well. A of course slept right through it. She sleeeps like Van Winkle.
I had no thought of a quake till I saw your ping.
We felt it pretty good here....a bit more and I can imagine stuff coming off shelves.
Now I know why both cats were all nervous up on the bed making noise too in the dark.
Since it was created by an earthquake. It looks like the trees walked right into the water.
I felt the ground shake about an hour ago in middle tn. Scared me.
I felt that one too. My chair at work was a jiggling for a few seconds. Maybe 5.
Felt it down here pretty good down here in my hollow out Hillsboro Road on the Dav/Will county line.

has it as a 4.5 located 8 miles east of Bone Gap, Illinois - displaced a little bit from the earlier one. Felt it here in Mahomet, IL while I was reading about the earlier one. Slept through that.
Yesterday they were talking about a hum the earth generates continuously that is just outside our senses range to pick up.
I am wondering if animals can hear it or feel it and can recognize when the hum changes that something big is about to happen.
Something sure happens with them though, there are too many cases documented of their behavior changing before a quake to casually disregard.
Just felt a major AS at 10:18AM at Olney. Was reported at 4.5
