Pelosi Statement on President’s Announcement on Climate Change

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today ahead of President Bush’s expected announcement this afternoon of Administration efforts on climate change:

“After seven years of denying the seriousness of the climate crisis and delaying tough action to save the planet, President Bush finally will discuss the subject this afternoon. With just nine months left in his term, the White House has already made clear that the President’s announcement today will not reverse his record on global warming before he leaves office.

“The President should encourage the efforts of governors and mayors across the country who stepped into the void of leadership when the Bush Administration failed to act. His Administration has been obstructing efforts by states, such as California, to take tough action against global warming.

“The President should support the efforts of the New Direction Congress to pass historic cap-and-trade climate legislation, which will begin to limit emissions and serve as a basis for global cooperation. Instead, he is expected to reject all legislative efforts currently underway.

“The President should begin using his regulatory power to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Instead, he has failed to utilize these tools, even in the face of the Supreme Court’s ruling that the Environmental Protection Agency can take action to prevent greenhouse gas pollution.

“As we are honored by the visit of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, the President should heed his warnings about our moral responsibility to act, calling for a ‘strong commitment to reverse those trends that risk making the situation of decay irreversible.’”

“His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI”

Isn’t he one of the bitter people clinging to religion? :-)

Once again we see Democrats kick Bush in the teeth. They are forever feigning their sincere desire and interest in rising above politics and moving beyond partisanship, but their record of deeds is abundantly clear. They ONLY care about partisanship and are simply not at all interested in political dialog. It is all about partisan games and the ability and attempt to accrue more power unto themselves by whatever means possible. Such a gracious statement by Pelosi.

Well, Bush is getting what he deserves - as if joining the AGW club is going to get him any chits with the liberals or the media. McCain is going to find that out real soon also.

Embracing this climate-change idiocy is the worst yet in the growing list of Bush's follies. He should know by now that the left will hate his guts no matter what lengths of gutless pandering he's willing to subject us to.

And STFU Nancy you flaccid old Marxist hag.

Now, now, they accomplished one thing. They got the minimum wage increase that helped less than 1% of the working population.

President Bush is now trying to reach out to the enviro-terrorist thinking it will help with his legacy but he also knows that nothing is likely to get passed. He should be using the Bully Pulpit to tell the American people that if it weren't for the Liberals obstruction to drilling we would have ample supplies of oil and the gas prices would less than $2 a gallon.
