Both he and Baraq vowed to stick with public financing, but I think he said he will leave open the option to drop that if Baraq does first.
I have no idea what those idiots are up to at the DNC though.
Note that Obama has recently been trying to redefine public financing: using the internet to solicit donations from citizens would fall under Obama's definition of "public financing". Such a redefinition serves Obama well, but not McCain -- which then makes it more likely for McCain to "flip flop" and abandon his pledge to stick with public financing.
“Baraq”
LOL!!!
Please don’t spell it Baraq. While the transliteration from the Arabic is inexact, the spelling “Barack” is generally accepted and most closely resembles the proper Arabic pronunciation. And it is a matter of respect. Barack, you see, was the name of the prophet Mohammed’s magical winged horse, with the breasts of a woman and the tail of a peacock, who took the prophet for his evening’s visit to Paradise and back. Gotta respect the prophet’s horse.
Seriously, in all the hoo-hah over a radio talk-show host’s emphasis on Obama’s middle name Hussein, the origin and symbolism of his first name has gone totally unremarked. “Hussein” (and other variations of the H-S-N trilateral root) merely infers that one is a Muslim, but there’s something very special and symbolic to be named for the steed who magically conveyed the prophet to Paradise.
