This weekend, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright made his first comments since his public sermons made national headlines.
He came out swinging, once again attacking the United States for racism. He also singled out Fox News for criticism.
Speaking Saturday at a eulogy for former appellate Judge R. Eugene Pincham, a member of Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ, Wright blamed the Founding Fathers for the woes of blacks today, claiming they “planted slavery and white supremacy in the DNA of this republic.”
Wright cited Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who recently said the country has a “congenital birth defect” owing to its constitutional acceptance of slavery.
Wright also described Thomas Jefferson as having engaged in “pedophilia.”
But his most heated comments were targeted at Fox News, which he called "Fix News."
“Fox News can’t understand that,” Wright exclaimed. “[Bill] O’Reilly will never get that. Sean Hannity’s stupid fantasy will keep him forever stuck on stupid when it comes to comprehending how you can love a brother who does not believe what you believe. [Pincham’s] faith was a faith in a God who loved the whole world not just one country or one creed.”
Presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, a member of Wright's church, has distanced himself from some of Wright's comments but refuses to condemn his former pastor or resign from the church.
If any of the other candidates’ spiritual advisors were spouting racist hatred as does Obama’s, that candidate wouldn't still be in the race and rightly so. Your race card isn't worth playing here.
I am of the white race and I wonder if I would be in a booby-hatch--nut house--psyche ward if I had witnessed what you did. I never lived in the south and maybe that is a good thing.
I admire your strength. Regardless of our race, culture and religion, we all need strength to get through the tough things we're forced to endure. I've got enough years behind me to know that no one has an easy road through life.
For a period of my life, I prayed every night for strength, because I knew I needed it. I'm stronger now, hopefully, that I used to be.

O Reily's major complaint was that Wright is a very influential and irresponsible racist and antagonist, along with being a complete loon who literaly makes claims that the US deserved 911 and engineered AIDS to strike down blacks. Considering that the #1 method of contracting the disease is homosexual anal sex, and the #2 most popular method is sharing a hyperdermic needle with an aids infested junkie, what does that say about Wrights logic - that the CIA took a poll and deduced that only black men are gay &/or IV drug addicts, so they could easily dispense of them with no worries for the dozens of other races here?
Same thing with his rants about the 3 strikes law - to believe Wright, you'd have to assume blacks are so likely to commit felonies and so predictably unlikely to rehabilitate, that the government could count on permanantly locking up blacks and only blacks?
Have you noticed that no other pastors of any other race are babbling this nonsense?
What you're calling "attacked" is what in reality is being "exposed".
Yes, Wright is old enough to remember racism. He exudes racism. He fosters racism. He depends on racism, and he got caught exposing his and Obama's racism.
He's a disgusting little man that has got filthy rich nurturing hate and keeping racism alive while the rest of the country has for the most part walked away from and rejected it, and he should be called on the carpet for it, and not just because he's influenced a similarly racist and elitest member of his congregation who is (badly) trying to hide his racism.
It's because there's no room for that crap in this country, not from anyone.

One thing you won't often hear "whites" as you put it do is talk like Pastor Wright about another race, but not just because they would immediately be locked up for a hate crime. It's because no one would listen.
He seems to ignore the fact that it was people with black skins in Africa who SOLD his brothers into slavery in the first place.
Wright is an ex-marine?? - Any information available about his military career? Did he voluntarily remain in the USMC for his entire enlistment or was he “encouraged” to leave the corp?
As an old vet myself, I cannot figure how he could come out that hateful and racist after serving.
I was raised (1950’s - 60’s) in Alabama by well meaning (but wrong), racist parents and extended family. I never met a “black” or “Jew” person personally until I joined the service. I then found out that Blacks and Jews were basically the same as I with many of the same personal problems. We all got along well and the fears I had were soon removed. (The military is a great place for many to grow up and mature - but obviously not all)

Remember Paul Wellstone? Once again we see lefties will take the occasion of a eulogy or any available public event they can to spout their political views and endless anger.
They are as hopeless as they are mindless, and the scary part is that many of them may get extremely violent if Obama loses in either August or November.

...slavery was just a minor reason or excuse for the civil war...so all the pro vs anti slavery issues that were bitterly fought over the new, border states were a smoke screen....I tend to think that expansion of slavery in the border states was one of the catalyst for the Civil War.
Seriously, the people who have become fabulously wealthy in America, black and white, are the ones who have worked the system and decided to excel, rather than sit back and claim victimhood. The very people that are touted during History Monty as heros would laugh and then spit on the so-called "black leaders" of today. But then again, most of those people, who studied, worked hard, and provided for their families without blaming others, would be rejected by today's black leaders as being "too white".
There were two black students in my high school thirty years ago...and at my daughter's high school the population is about evenly represented. We say she has no black friends...because she just has friends (some of whom are black.) Because we and others have no hatred poisoning our hearts, our world is a different place.
It is people like this so-called minister that keep racism alive. It would be dead and gone if not for the kind of hatred of others that he cherishes in his heart. Jesus would stand up immediately and walk out of this man's so-called church...given twenty years, why didn't Obama?
I believe he drank a lot of ice tea that day, and was out of the sanctuary going to the bathroom when his pastor was discussing Whitey.

Rev. Wright is mad because he’s not getting a free pass any more. He’s been outed as a racist hate-filled separatist.
