INDIANAPOLIS - (WANE) - The Indiana Republican Party is calling on Indiana Democrats in Congress to denounce Barack Obama's criticism of Midwestern values at a San Francisco fundraiser last Sunday.

Indiana Republican Party spokesman Jay Kenworthy issued the following statement on Barack Obama's comments posted below.

"Indiana is full of decent people who support gun rights because they believe in the Constitution and place a premium on religion because they are people of faith -- not because we are bitter as Obama stated. Perhaps this is something Barack Obama doesn't understand, but surely our Congressional delegation does.

"I can't imagine Hoosiers supporting a candidate who thinks so little of them."

Former Speaker John Gregg issued the following statement in response to recent comments made by Senator Obama:

"I am offended to hear of Senator Obama's recent comments at a fundraiser in San Francisco. If this is the description of small towns in the Midwest that Senator Obama is telling people in San Francisco, he clearly hasn't spent enough time in Indiana. Those of us who live in small towns across Indiana are hardworking Americans who love and fight for our country, and live where we do because we believe it's the best place to raise our kids and call home. Senator Obama should focus his campaign on offering plans to help struggling Hoosiers create a better life and not mock them for their small town values and religious beliefs."

Obama's remarks as recorded by a Huffington Post writer in attendance at a recent California fundraising dinner:

"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them," Obama said. "And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Yes supporting an immigration policy that would replace my children that makes sense, not.

If they’ve been there for 25 years and they haven’t gotten a new job and still elect Democrats and liberals then there is something wrong with them. Our ancestors which picked up their bags and moved to where the work was would be ashamed of their posterity in how weak it has become. States like PA, OH, and MI deserve what they elect. They have built increasingly burdensome tax codes and have driven business out of their states and if they can not see this than they should be let suffer. I have no sympathy for those who kill the golden goose and then cry because someone with not just give them another to kill.

Gun ownership and religion are the two greatest freedoms Americans embrace. Religion is freedom of speech and expression. Guns defend those freedoms.

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with midwest values.

It is the people in San Fran Freako who need a reality check about values.
More class warfare drawl from an Obamination.

I hope Obama’s quote is used OVER and OVER in November. Will lose him votes in the South too - not just the MidWest.

There is a liberal school of thought stating that even wanting to own a weapon is evidence of a mental disorder, including even a Swiss Army knife. Obama obviously believes this, when he addresses the issue he is on a mission, to cure all of us crazy folks.
Obama needs to go away, back to his beloved ancestral homeland!

Obama is not a uniter.

As far as I know before the likes of Obama, Hillary, Reverend Wright, Al Sharpton, Calypso Louis Farrakhan, Jessie Jackson and other race baiter's and enablers came along America was not nearly as divided as it is now on race and hand outs.

Thanks to the hating black and Hispanic leaders, whitey once again becomes the whipping boy for everything these racists haters deem to be wrong with America.

I seriously doubt that China, Cuba or Russia would put up with the kind of Bull Shiite of the haters that Obama holds so dear.

Their strategy is to elect democrats who tell them the government will take care of them so they don't have to do anything.

The race game is nothing but a hustle. Mention racism and people crumble at the simple inference.

There is no such thing as a color blind society.
Only structure and principle can bring order and unity.
Race baiters are dividers and Obama is their tool.

This whole campaign, assuming Obama gets the Rat’s nod, will be nothing but race baiting slanderous opportunity.
Defeat will be racist. Criticism will be racist.
Mark my words.

Referring to residents of small towns in Pennsylvania, Obama told a small group of fundraisers in San Francisco earlier this week that “it's not surprising they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

To parse this, all he is saying is that residents of small towns in Pennsylvania are a bunch of NRA card carrying gun nut born agains who hate niggers and foreigners.

How dare Obama criticize anyone's religion when he goes to a racist church and listens for 20 years to racist and anti-American rants.

When a Donkey craps in the middle of the road it is not Responsible.
Democrats are the party of irresponsibility.

Keep electing Rats and they will never be responsible for anything. It’s all Bush’s fault.

They didn’t do it. In fact, they have done nothing.

The Indiana Republican Party is calling on Indiana Democrats in Congress to denounce Barack Obama’s criticism of Midwestern values at a San Francisco fundraiser last Sunday.

I am sick to death of this wimpish crap of calling on people to apologize, denounce, etc. These people should be getting off their backsides and proving that the offender (whether Obama or someone else) is anti-American, anti-family, etc. They need to quit asking for apologies and show some backbone and ingenuity.

And when he went on the defensive, he did not confess what he said was wrong, he just attacked McCain and Clinton for calling him “out of touch.” I thought that he might have been able to pull it off if he’s said the right thing in his explanation, but he didn’t address the original statement. BIG MISTAKE!

And the revelations about Obama’s Sunday services was a major surprise to Americans who have never lived or worked with U.S. blacks. Many black children in this country go to school filled with hate learned from their parents and pastors. The hate-filled attitude holds them back academically. When will Obama address this situation? Oh, forgot, he is the product of the same influences.

Obama started going to church because as a community organizer who was from out of town, he needed to do something like that to establish his credibility. The white people in small towns in Pennsylvania don't have that motive, so obviously they only go to church because they are bigots and bitter losers.

At least that's how Obama and his supporters see them.

I saw Howard Fineman, the classic liberal elitist, on TV this morning opining that this will work out to be a net plus for Obama after he gets done finessing it...like his handling of the Jeremiah Wright flap was a plus for Obama (to hear Fineman explain it).
