The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in New Mexico shows that Democratic Congressman Tom Udall has widened his lead over potential Republican opponents in the race for the states open U.S. Senate seat.
Udall now leads Republicans Steve Pearce 54% to 40% and Heather Wilson 56% to 36%.

This sucks.
From what I’ve heard, Wilson’s negatives are toxic on par with Oberweis in IL. It’s the single reason to support Pearce (but it will be very tough, regardless).
Wilson got caught in the same U.S. Attorney controversy that drove Domenici to retire. Her role was pretty minor, but it seems to have been enough.

The Udall name has had high recognition in the Southwest ever since Stewart Udall served Kennedy as Sec of Interior. Then there was Mo Udall from Arizona in the House for many years, and there’s another one now, in Colorado. They are sort of a dispersed dynasty in the desert.
"We are so screwed..."
The Udall spawn took up residence in the moonbat enclaves of Santa Fe and Boulder. The Santa Fe one has already won statewide twice, but the Boulder one hasn’t. We can beat the Boulder one if we’re well funded.
What are the odds of Dems getting more than 55 senate seats?
I’d say at the moment, a smidge over 50%. A good year for us will be only a loss of 3 (dropping to 46). A bad one will be a loss of 8 (strongly possible) and a drop to 41. A complete farking fiasco of 10 (the maximum number we could drop taking into account moderately vulnerable Republicans) means a drop to 39. Such a precipitous drop would be the worst for us since the 1950s when we went from a majority (pre-1955) to only 1/3rd (1958 elections). It took us 22 years to recover from the ‘58 elections in the Senate.
Wilsons numbers are 53% favorable, 52% unfavorable.
Rasmussen now sampling the significant 5% demo descended from 1947 Roswellians.
There is something about Santa Fe which attracts the likes of Joseph C. Wilson and Valerie Mata-Hari-In-Her-Mind.
When the Dalai Lama visited the temple on Cerrillos the Foresters with Free Tibet stickers extended to the horizon in either direction but their owners voted for the ChiCom candidate in 1992 and 1996.
Udall is a shoo-in in Mexico del Norte.
Wide gap, but let’s see if his shoulders are wide enough to carry the dead weight of barack mcgovern at the top of the ticket as he makes his way toward this “certain” victory.
