Zimmer is just another in the long, long list of candidates the RINOs of the NJGOP would rather see than a good conservative legislator like Pennacchio. He is solidly pro-life and in all his years in elective office, a Freeholder, 3 terms in the Assembly and now a state Senator he has never voted for a tax increase.
For the record, in their first head-to-head matchup Pennacchio defeated Zimmer in Zimmer’s home county when the organization tried to give the line to Zimmer.
Richard Zimmer, like those picked before him, are puppets of people like the Keans and Whitmans. He pronounces himself a “fiscal” conservative, with the emphasis on “fiscal”. This is in opposition to Joe Pennachio, his Republican opponent in the primary who is an unabashed conservative - plain and simple.
The Tom Kean's Chrissie Whitmans and other Rockefeller Republican apparatchiks will do ANYTHING to keep a candidate who is a solid Republican like Joe Pennachio from running.
First, they handpicked that Easterbrook woman - an attorney with no political experience - and she developed a convenient illness after making a fool of herself in an interview. Then they grabbed a Hispanic businessman as their pointman and he turned out to be crook. NOW< they scraped the bottom of the barrel to pull out a two-time looser like Zimmer who barked like a puppy dog when he was in Congress during Clinton's regime whenever Clinton said “speak” on social issues. ALL in an effort to stop a REAL Republican from running against the Cadaver-in-Thief Lautenberg (who actually is an official resident of Washington, D.C., NOT New Jersey).
SOOOOOOO, if you are a resident of New Jersey and sick and tired of RINO phonies like Tom Kean, Tom Kean Jr, Chrissie Whitman, “Donnie” DiFrancesco and other loosers, do yourself a favor - vote for Pennachio in June.
BY the way, Pennachio is a Dentist, not an Lawyer, so he DOES have a useful trade - unlike Laywer/Lobbyist Looser Has-been Zimmer.
DICK Zimmer is running for Senate. Morris County New Jersey is well served by genuine Republicans like Pennachio, Carroll, Webber and Merkt.
And ALL of New Jersey would benefit from a breath of Fresh Air in their Congressional Representation by a real American - Joe Pennachio - instead of another slimy RINO like DICK Zimmer or a leftist Democrat like Lautenberg.
Right you are. And its my understanding the RINOs are backing DICK Zimmer, just like they backed the last two losers - just to keep a real Republican from getting nominated and elected in New Jersey.
Looks like NJ hasn’t gotten any better politically in recent years.
Pick up the Soprano State by Bob Ingalls. www,thesopranostate.com. Learn all about party bosses in New Jersey, like Norcross, Lesniak, Bennett et al, together with the mob and its all pervasive influence on Jersey politicians and their administrations from Byrne to the current idiot.
Is Pennachio from New York originally? I only ask because he doesn't talk like someone from MoCo.
I think the Piney (Bob Andrews) is merely positioning himself to be appointed once Lautenberg kicks the bucket. Most of the Dems in my family are 100% behind the Louse.
I've always found him to be somewhat entertaining...
Check out the article in today’s Morris County Daily Record on DICK Zimmer. He’s a two-horned RINO.
Don’t know where Pennachio is from. But then Teddy Roosevelt came from New York City.
I DO know where DICK Zimmer is coming from - and I don’t like it.
If Zimmer is nominated, New Jersey might just as well re-elect Lautenberg. There is no difference between the two ideologically. Its just that Zimmer is breathing better.
Curtis Sliwa referred to Frank Lautenberg as a: cadaver dipped in formadelhyde./Just Asking - seoul62.......
Probably not corrupt, but a RINO nonetheless.
Read the Daily Record on RINO Zimmer and his support for “phased withdrawal from Iraq”. Guess he agrees with Barack HUSSEIN on that.
What was wrong with the manifesto? Where can it be seen?
Check out the Daily Record article on Zimmer and his support for phased withdrawal from Iraq. This isn’t a one issue situation. He’s a RINO, check him out.
Lautenberg is 90. The Rats are attacking McCain over the age issue.
Does that make sense? Lautneberg doesn’t even have New Jersey as his official plpace of residence, but in the Soprano State, NOTHING should surprise you.
I’m considering voting for “Jersey Joe”. I know, our choices aren’t great...a dim will get elected anyway. I just hope the winner isn’t “Granny” Lautenberg.
Well, I guess they deserve what they voted for./Just Asking - seoul62.........
Remember the monument of integrity called Tom Kean Senior?
You know, the guy who Chaired the 9-11 Commission? The guy who invited his “good friend” Bill Clinton to address the student body of Drew University during the campaign for President? The same man who issued a statement that “your government betrayed you” ONE WEEK before the election between Bush II and Gore or Kerry? The same guy who believes in “reparations” to the black community for slavery? The man who does not believe the Second Amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear arms?
How about Chrissie Whitman the birdbrain who helped engineer New Jersey's current fiscal crisis?
My guess is they are supporting Zimmer for Senate. I'd almost bet my life on it. Their fingerprints are all over the deal to kill Pennachio.
New Jersey Voters have become Metropolitanized. A lot of them think like New York City residents and are New York Democrats or RINOS.
Logic doesn’t enter into their decisions.
You are right - they deserve Lautenberg and if Zimmer is nominated, you can be sure he will be in office again next year.
The last conservative to hold statewide office in NJ was Governor Charles Edison (Tom’s son). He held office in the 1940’s and was a Democrat. Helped finance YAF in the early days.
