IIRC, African violets do not do well if their roots get left to soak. As a tropical, they like the water to run through, and then go away, leaving the soil moist but breathable.That is exactly how my Mom grows them, 2 part ceramic....pot and platter.

Yes, left thumb. The parrot was sitting on the edge of the hammock, shmoozing at Tom, and he wanted to get up, so I thought I could hold it while he stood. Nope.
He tried sitting up, and the parrot walked onto his chest, then his shoulder, then his head, and complained about having to move!
The owner took pictures, and I gave her a card with our address, so we may see them eventually.

It was behind the rogue server machine that was serving up BitTorrents of an old version of Kubuntu, clogging the pipe. Fixed it but good.
I just rejoined the server to the house net after reconfiguring the WiFi a while back -- it had been off for a time.
But right now I only want it to back up the MP3 player before removing everything that might look suspicious to Customs, including my Persian music collection.
