NEW YORK, April 9 (Reuters) - British pop star Elton John, playing a fund-raiser for Hillary Clinton in New York on Wednesday, said he was amazed at the misogyny of some in America and he hoped that wouldn't stop her being president.
At the fund-raiser which Clinton's campaign manager said raised $2.5 million, John said there was no one more qualified to lead the United States into the next era.
"Having said that, I never cease to be amazed at the misogynistic attitude of some people in this country. And I say to hell with them," he said, drawing cheers from the crowd at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan.
"The reason I'm here tonight is to play music, but more importantly as someone who comes from abroad, and is in America quite a lot of the time (and) is extremely interested in the political process because it effects the whole world."
"I've always been a Hillary supporter," he said.
Introducing him, Clinton recalled that the entertainer had played at the White House at a state dinner when her husband Bill Clinton was president.
The New York senator, who is trailing Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, vowed to take her battle for the Democratic nomination to the end of the primary process, saying all the states should have their say.
Clinton said she couldn't sing but "What I want you to know is 'I'm still standing,'" -- echoing the title of an Elton John song.
John opened his set with the track "Your Song," dwelling on the line "How wonderful life is when you're in the world." Other hits he sang included "Daniel" and "Rocket Man."
misogyny? what a bunch of crap. If only we had another Margaret Thatcher running. She’d win.
The FrankenBeast walks!
On Cavuto tonight, a guest raised the question of the legality of a foreign national making an ‘in kind contribution’ to a candidate for President of the United States. Neil didn’t want to hear that line of questioning, but I think it’s perfectly valid.
Tonight’s fundraiser, the article states, brought $2.5M into the Clinton campaign thanks to the contribution of a foreign national’s donation. Is that or is that not illegal?
Inquiring minds want to know.
And we all know what a loyal Thatcherite Sir Elton was. Oh, didn’t vote for the lady?
Oh yes, doesn’t Ivory here play with Ebony anymore?
To paraphrase Eddie Murphy, “Tell Elton I said have a co** and a smile and shut the **** up.”
Eddie’s not for Obama? Racist.
Elton John can kiss my ass. Grown adults calling people names if you don’t agree with them. How childish. Another one who needs to be smacked upside the head with a two by four and told to grow up.
Lainie, it may actually mean something to him. I don’t think God looks upon homosexuals with glee, but that call is up to Him. I know it kindof grates me, but he has to come to peace with his lifestyle and if he wants to try to be as close to God as he can, I can’t really challenge it other than to say that I think his lifestyle is wrong.
I’m sure he thought he was doing a good thing by talking about mesogynysts like he did. He hasn’t a clue that folks don’t like what Hillary has stood for or what she has conducted herself like.
Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
uncanny.. wow.
PANTSUIT IN THE WIND
Tune: "Candle in the Wind"
Hello, Crusty Queen,
Though you never cleaned it at all,
You had the guts to wear your suit
While those around you crawled.
They crawled out of the odor
And they kept on holding their nose,
They shouted from a distance
And they begged you, "Change your clothes."
And it seems to me you wore your clothes
Like a pantsuit in the wind,
Never knowing what to change to
When the stains set in.
And I would have liked to have worn one,
But it would make me ill.
Your perfume wore out long before
Your pantsuit ever will.
Check out the photos on this thread. Ugh... makes me wanna barf!

Hillary Said Ousted from Watergate Role for Unethical Behavior
Jerry Zeifman, the Democrat chief of staff of the House Judiciary Committee that worked on the Watergate investigation, says he fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation one of only three people Zeifman refused to recommend to other employers in his 17-year career, because she was a liar. She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.
Clinton defended her actions in the Watergate investigation as necessary for the greater good. Look, we all know Nixon was a crook. So I bent a few rules in order to save the country from this criminal. She attributed Zeifmans criticisms to the type rigid legalism promulgated by the vast right-wing conspiracy that has had me in its sights since the very beginning and speculated that Zeifman may have turned against her due to institutionalized misogyny that prevails in Washington.
In related news, Emina Bicakcic, the Bosnian girl who met Hillary Clinton during her 1996 visit is shocked that the former first lady claimed to have dodged sniper fire that day. I stood on the tarmac at the air base in Tuzla, greeted Mrs. Clinton and even had time to read her my poem, Bicakcic, now 20 said. There was no gunfire. The girls account was dismissed by Clinton as impossible. I was the only survivor on that dreadful day.

All right, all right, I’ll give the point. :-)
But he still pisses me off.
Good point. All those not for Obama are hereby officially RACISTS. It can’t be policy disagreements, or issues with his lack of experience: he is black and therefore all dissent must be racist in nature. That is all. Pass it on.
Yeah...if he wasn’t a big Margaret Thatcher fan, doesn’t that mean he’s misogynist?
