New developments today in the case of a supposed beating of a student from Athens ISD.
13 year old Melanie Bowers is having charges filed against her by Athens ISD today through the Henderson County District Attorney's office for filing a false report, said Athens ISD officials today.
Bowers had claimed that she was beaten and threatened by a group of students at Athens ISD last Friday for creating a protest sign saying, "If you love our nation, stop illegal immigration."
After the incident, administrators reviewed videotapes of the incident - which instead of showing students beating her, instead showed Bowers scratching herself on her arm. Some students reportedly threw her project into the trash, but no physical attacks or threats were substantiated.

It’s the first incident I’ve heard of about a faked illegal immigrant attack.
However, how many fake “racial attacks” have we heard about, from hanging nooses to swastikas, to self mutilation?

A lot. But, as Michelle Malkin said when she reported this, fakers can and do come from all over the political spectrum. There’s no excuse for it. 13 years old or not. I guess she got so upset that her assignment got trashed, she decided to “show them.” Well, she’s going to pay for it now, and rightfully so.

She could always make the ‘fake but accurate’ defense claim. It seems to work for everyone else.

It is unfortunate that this young girl falsified a report. I stridently disagree with accusing anyone falsely, even illegal alien crimmigrants, or their supporters.

This is just down the road from me.....and I have to say I was pretty surprised when I heard the report on the radio this morning. Most of the hispanics around here.... legal or not...play things in a pretty low-key manner.
I read somewhere yesterday that she even picked out some fellow students from their yearbook photos and fingered them as being some of her attackers. Would she really let innocent kids get in trouble like that? What a nasty thing to do. If she were my kid, she’d be in HUGE trouble. Plus, as others pointed out, now real victims won’t be believed. This will just give ammunition to the pro-illegal crowd. Thanks a lot, Melanie!

I was impressed by the girl’s father, who said he agreed with bringing false report charges against the girl. It’ll teach her a good lesson. This is a far cry from what usually happens when whites are falsely accused of “hate” crimes. In those cases, we’re told that while the specific crime may not have happened, it was still good to remind everyone how evil whitey is.
She needs to learn a real lesson here. Falsely charging someone is a very dangerous and malicious thing to do.

Was she holding her sign? Taking something attached to the person is still the same as an assault.
Her enhancing of injuries is just plain stupid but then again, the necessity defense comes into play because the fact the public schools give illegals special treatment.
