I changed my mind about no comments.

First warrant was wrong.

The guy named in the first warrant was not at the compound, he was in Arizona, but authorities didn’t try to get him there.

The first warrant gave them an in to the compound to get a second warrant.

If this was anyone but the FLDS people would probably be up in arms about 4th Amendment and illegal search and seizures. Not to mention various choice words about Social Services.

I guess naming the wrong man in a warrant is a bit better than this:

The whole thing could end up thrown out on a technicality?

They’ll have to go back to a judge and revise the warrant and everything and everyone they collected would be up in the air as to admissibility?

“Also, she noted, Dale Barlow has a 2007 conviction in Arizona for criminal charges related to marrying and impregnating a different 16-year-old girl, which may have contributed to confusion.”

So many polygamists, so little time.

When a society suspends the laws it lives by to purge those it finds undesirable it will soon also find as undesirable those who disagree with the suspension of the law in the first place. ......then they came for me but there was no one left to speak up on my behalf.

But Holm said the girl's identity, and the correct identity of her husband, is "common knowledge" in Colorado City, Ariz., and Hildale, Utah

If there's an underaged girl who's been beaten, raped and forced to give birth to a child, and if her identity and that of the abuser, are "common knowledge" to anyone, aren't those persons accessories to the crimes for not having reported this previously? And, if the names of the victim and the perpetrator are common knowledge, why are the Texas authorities still trying to identify the girl, and why have they left the name on the search warrant uncorrected?

It seems fairly apparent that truly evil activities involving children have been taking place here, and my biggest fear is that any of the perpetrators will go free due to law enforcement ineptitude.

Texas authorities named the wrong man in search and arrest warrants used to enter the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado and begin questioning FLDS children, two opponents of the sect said Tuesday.

So they say...

It wouldn't be possible that they were lying, now would it? I mean, really,... what reason could they possibly have for doing that, I wonder?

The longer this story goes on, the more likely it appears the government is “fishing” for charges.

If these people weren’t white Christian polygamists, everyone will be screaming against the LEO for violation of the constitutional rights of these American citizens.

This is very troublesome to me. While I utterly reject their religious beliefs and practices; it does appear the government is violating their rights, as Reverent Lovejoy’s wife will say, “for the sake of the children.”

You don’t need to be a constitutional expert to see something is very wrong with the actions of the LEO in Texas on this issue and they are vulnerable to a whopping class action lawsuit.

In the meantime, thousands of Muslim girls, some as young as nine, are being forcefully married to middle-aged Muslim men in cities across the land. And yet, we hear NOTHING about them. Hmmm, sure looks like a double standard to me.

this could screw up their whole case as part of a “fruit of the poisonous tree” defense.

Scrivner’s errors are allowed UP TO A POINT. However, executing a warrent on a party other than the one named in the warrent is a major NO NO.

Before I read this thread, I will predict that people that belong in a cult presently, will maintain a defense for these fellow cult members and will probably defend polygamy.

I’ll start reading the thread now (I hope I’m wrong).

This group of old line Mormons should just move to Britain There it is permissable to have multiple wives of any age as long as it is the custom wherefrom they come to Britain.

In fact, you apparently can drive at excessive speeds in commuting from one wife to another without fear of punishment. While the British born people are not allowed to have multiple wives, the British government, being multi-cultured, allow others to come to Britian and relax British laws for those who follow different sexual or marriage practices.
