Six teen girls lured a former friend to a home and ambushed her, taking turns pounding on her face and body for 30 minutes until she was unconscious as someone videotaped the violence, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
"Shocking, I've never seen anything like it," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. "They seem to have absolutely no remorse at all. I don't understand the sheer violence."
Investigators said the victim apparently posted something against the six girls on MySpace before she was lured to the home by a phone call from teen Mercedes Nichols.
Police said the girl traveled to the house and walked into the trap.
One girl met her at the door and five others were hiding in a back room, detectives said. The girls were then seen on video pummeling the girl in the face and body and slamming her head into a wall.
As the videotape rolled, a girl's voice is heard yelling "There is only 17 seconds left; make it good."
Police said the girls wanted to post the video on YouTube and MySpace.

These little animals must have some world class parents. But at least they raised them stupid, too, as evidenced by the decision to video their deeds and put it on youtube or myspace. That even outclasses some of the criminals who’d victimize someone, then use their cell phone for days.
These little winches should get Darwin awards along with adult trials and prison sentences.

“While being held in the police holding cell they were laughing and joking about what they had done.”
I hope they are subjected to a public trial and put on display for the entire country.

I heard on the radio that they giggled all through their questioning and one girl asked if she would be through in time for cheerleading practice.
I'm telling you...reverse evolution.

Could be, but youre putting the ultimate responsibility the wrong place. I doubt their parents forced them to do this. I agree with pissant. They may not have forced them, but they raised them. Or not, as the case may be.
It IS the parents responsibility.

Report: "The girl was taken to a hospital by ambulance and treated for a concussion, damage to her left eye and left ear, and numerous bruises, the report said.
The girl can no longer see well out of one eye and hear from one ear..."

I suppose I would agree with you - That they should all do some prison time. The problem with that outcome is that it is quite likely that the prisons they would be confined in are completely overloaded. Unbelievable as it is, it is a fact that there are a number of efforts to release prisoners due to lack of funding!
It is very likely that these evil morons would simply take the place of an even more violent Perp who would be released to make room for them.
A symptom of an even bigger problem.

Teens do stupid things especially in a group setting. Group influence on a teen's behavior can be an enormous factor.

You gotta wonder about beautiful teenage girls. They are not all sweetness and light inside.Judging by the girls I knew in high school they aren't all sweetness and light on the outside either.

the Army doesnt need or want them Exactly right - nor would I want to have any of our troops dependent on them in the field...
However, they should be sentenced to 4 years of non-stop boot camp.
