Racism in the pulpit has been an ugly reality in the black community for some 40 years. Yet, it took the mad rantings of Barack Obama's pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. to bring it to our national consciousness.
For the sake of the future of our great country, it is time we spoke frankly about this insidious cancer.

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'" - Matt. 7: 21-23
and where are the strong leaders inside the congregations that should be standing up to their ministers? The biggest demon seems to find a way onto the pulpit and then nobody dares anger it and stand up to the dimwit minister who it controls. If the church would be teaching it’s people how to be still in the mind from all of the evil and good thoughts that we get everyday, then the people would have the strength and patience to correct their leaders or just get the hell out of those churches.
If what comes out of this political race is that people of good will, who love our country and all its people, can finally call out these RACIST preachers, that will be a step forward.
Thank you, Jesse.
I wish every black person in the country would have to talk to Lisa Fritsch for several hours. Here is the header from her blog.
Often referred to as just right of Sgt. Sam, Lisa Fritsch has been a regular fill in co-host on The Morning Show since 2004. As a writer, shes been a regular contributor to Todays Black Woman Magazine, The Austin American Statesman, The Dallas Morning News, and Austin Monthly Magazine.
So is the Rev. Jeremiah Wright the norm in the predominantly black churches or the exception?
Wright is socialist, but the capitalist donations keep his life-style up to par. I wonder if 70 percent of the country is socialist: it is voting that way.
Do you think most who are far Oprah’s Obama are for him, not because he is black as G. Ferraro claimed, but because they are expecting “free health care” from his FIRST term?
Because of my strong civil rights opinions, I raised a color-blind child, a child who made me prouder than I ever imagined I could be. My home was filled with his team mates, and I fed, mended, washed, tucked in cornrows next to blond curls and high and tight brown buzz jobs. Our table was blessed with the finest young men our country has to offer - one of whom is finishing his course of study at West Point this May, others who have continued their studies and made strides to live a full and useful live in the country they love.
As some of you know, my son was recruited by a major Division 1 Christian/Catholic School to head their team. The day he received his invitation to join the hallowed ranks of Quarterbacks, he was accused of a horrible crime by someone who has heard sermons like those or Pastor Wrights “old school” moments. From that moment to this day, our family has suffered enormously financially, emotionally and physically.
Even now, my son is having to explain this horrendous miscarriage of justice to the Marines in order to enter Officer Candidates School. It is extremely painful to watch this faithful, outstanding young man have to deal with this once again.
I cannot say how despicable I find this discourse of race, how sinful those pastors are who promote it and how hot the fires of hell will be upon their demise. If you offered them salvation, they'd turn it down. They are comfortable with their religion of hate. I pray daily for their conversion. I will not speak against it.
Jesus knocked over the money changers tables and stopped what was going on there. IT isn’t a protest. Preachers who’s father isn’t God are representing themselves to young vulnerable people as representing Him. Instead of love they are preaching hate. I believe Jesus would not have let that go on.
That’s right.
THat’s right, only those who do the will of the father. THey know this is right.
That was well put fabian!
Yes, I agree. I like that “call out” racist preachers. THat’s what’s needed, even in their own congregations, as fabian put.
“don’t white preachers rise up and protest at this abuse of Christianity?”
No, because pointing out any wrongdoing or failures of people “of color” is attacked as racist, and those doing so will have their reputations absolutely DESTROYED.
“What a great life when you never have to take responsibility for your own stupid actions. “
quintessential “liberalism”
Christians are commanded to “out” false prophets and those preaching falsehoods,
as those falsehoods lead people to destruction.
Thank you, I checked out her web page. Looks interesting.

You don’t even have to be ordained, Sir. You can simply be in the vicinity. This disease of “hate” has infected far too many and has gone untreated for far too long. I will never sink to the level of behaving as those infected souls have sunk. I will continue to raise the level of discourse, pray for conversion of hearts and treat everyone I come in contact with as my Lord would have me treat them.
If Pastor Peterson sticks to the message of Christianity, he will run the course, finish the race and receive the crown of victory he will so richly deserve. It won’t stop because of one man. It will stop because we all (both black and white, Muslim and Christian/Jew) stick to the message of salvation and peace and REFUSE to raise the stakes in a contest that will destroy us all.
The Reverend Peterson is right on target as usual.
I’m so sorry to hear about your son. I recommend you call Jesse’s office and see if you can get him on Jesses radio show for an interview. I don’t know the story, but would like to hear.
