LEESBURG, Va. - A civil rights leader who served as a top lieutenant to Martin Luther King Jr. has pleaded not guilty to incest in a Virginia courtroom.

Whoa, some society we have going. They don’t give much detail, it is possible recovered/ invented memory is involved here. Either way tragic.
Ask Lambda Legal and the Human Rights Campaign for an analysis. They maintain that pushing to re-define marriage will not lead to legal incest or legal group marriage or legal polygamy.
I think the sad fact is, that by society allowing or condoning any sexual/relational arrangement, that it lowers the barriers to anyone else who wants to enter into any previously forbidden type of relationship/living situation.

Bevel, 70, was indicted by a Loudoun grand jury last month on one count of unlawfully committing fornication. The indictment followed a complaint to the Leesburg Police Department in September 2005, said Lt. Jeff Dube, a police spokesman.
The indictment says the accuser was 13 to 17 years old when the crime occurred between Oct. 14, 1992, and Oct. 14, 1994. Virginia does not have a statute of limitations for felony crimes.
“We investigated thoroughly and completely, and that led to the charge,” Dube said yesterday.
Bevel was arrested in Alabama late last month and brought to Loudoun on Sunday, Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Nicole Wittman said. He is being held without bond. The incest charge carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years, Wittman said.
Wearing a bright orange jumpsuit, orange slippers and leg irons, the bearded, bespectacled Bevel appeared briefly yesterday in Loudoun County Circuit Court, where his attorney requested a bond hearing.
Circuit Court Judge Thomas D. Horne scheduled the hearing for June 14.
Appearing a bit frail, Bevel did not speak at the hearing.
Buta Biberaj, a Leesburg attorney who represented Bevel at the hearing, declined to comment.
“The family has asked me to assist him with the bond hearing,” she said after Bevel was escorted back to the courthouse holding cell. “It’s premature to say anything else.”
Bevel, a minister, has been credited with playing a key role in some of the most prominent civil rights protests in the United States.
He organized the 1963 Children’s Crusade in Birmingham, Ala., and was a leader of the Freedom Rides to desegregate public accommodations throughout the South in the early 1960s. And he was an architect of the March on Washington in 1963 and the Selma-to-Montgomery march in Alabama in 1965.............

This is nothing new. King friend and confidante Bayard Rustin was having a sexual relationship with a 13 year-old boy when the March On Washington happened back in the 60’s.
Abernathy and others wanted Rustin left off the platform because this was an open secret, but King demanded he remain.

There are plenty of reasons to both praise and condemn Rev. King without resorting to hooking his name to something someone else did years later. Get a life.

Most seem to be either thugs, rabble rousing racists, corrupt shakedown artists, “Black Muslims”, Black Power muscle heads in bow ties, bribed politicians, rap “stars”, Thugball players, exconvicts, current convicts, Drug addicts or Pushers, America Hating Pastors, America Hating Politicians, or etc, etc....
It appears to many America’s black communities behave so much like the Palestinians — they make the wrong decisions and take the least productive action at every opportunity...
So many appear determined to race to their own failure and destruction..
There are so many competent and accomplished blacks within the community - but they are ignored, shunned..and their counsel unheeded.
How is that explained?

I wasn't familiar with Rustin so I looked him up. There is no question he was gay but I couldn't find any evidence online that he was a pedophile or that anyone (besides you) thought he was involved with a 13 year-old boy.
