Local and state officials entered the temple of a secretive polygamist sect late Saturday, said lawmen blockading the road to the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado.
The action comes hours after local prosecutors said officials were preparing for the worst because a group of FLDS members were resisting efforts to search the structure.
The Texas Department of Public Safety trooper and Schleicher County sheriff’s deputy confirmed that officials have entered the temple but said they had no word on whether anything occurred in the effort.
The incursion into the temple caps the three-day saga of the state’s Child Protective Services agency removing at least 183 women and children from the YFZ Ranch since Friday afternoon. Eighteen girls have been placed in state custody since a 16-year-old told authorities she was married to a 50-year-old man and had given birth to his child.
Saturday evening, ambulances were brought in, said Allison Palmer, who as first assistant 51st District attorney, would prosecute any felony crimes uncovered as part of the investigation inside the compound.
“In preparing for entry to the temple, law enforcement is preparing for the worst,” Palmer said Saturday evening. They want to have “medical personnel on hand in case this were to go in a way that no one wants.”
Apparently as a result of action Saturday night at the ranch, about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, a Schleicher County school bus unloaded another group of at least a dozen more women and children from the compound.
Although members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or FLDS, have provided varying degrees of cooperation to the sheriff’s deputies and Texas Rangers searching the compound, all cooperation stopped once authorities tried to search the gleaming white temple that towers over the West Texas scrub, Palmer said.
“There may be those who would oppose (entry) by placing themselves between law enforcement and the place of worship,” Palmer said Saturday afternoon. “If an agreement cannot be reached … law enforcement will have to — as gently and peaceably as possible — make entry into that place.”
Sect members consider the temple, dedicated by then-leader of the sect Warren Jeffs in January 2005 and finished many months later, off-limits to those who are not FLDS members, said Palmer, who prosecutes felony cases in Schleicher County.
Palmer said she didn’t know the size or makeup of the group inside the temple.
The earlier refusal to provide access was even more disconcerting because CPS investigators have yet to identify the 16-year-old girl or her roughly 8-month-old baby among the dozens removed from the compound, Palmer said.
“Anytime someone says, ‘Don’t look here,’” she said, “it makes you concerned that’s exactly where you need to look.”
The girl told authorities in two separate phone calls a day apart that she was married to a 50-year-old man, Dale Barlow, who had fathered her child, Palmer said.
The joint raid included the Texas Rangers, CPS, Schleicher County and Tom Green County sheriff’s deputies and game wardens from the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.
Although CPS and Department of Public Safety officials have described the compound’s residents as cooperative, Palmer disagreed.
“Things have been a little tense, a little volatile,” she said.
Authorities removed 52 children Friday afternoon and 131 women and children overnight Friday. About 40 of the children are boys, said CPS spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner.
No further children have been taken into state custody since Friday, when 18 girls were judged to have been abused or be at imminent risk for abuse. CPS has found foster homes for the girls, Meisner said, and will place them after concluding its investigation.
Meisner declined to comment on the fate of the 119 other children and said authorities were still searching the ranch for others Saturday evening.
“They’re in the process of looking,” she said. “They’re literally about halfway through.”

By the same token, it's interesting that they deny the LDS practice polygamy, and here they are on all the polygamy threads defending it. The more they defend it, the more folks are reminded of their own polygamous history. If I were still mormon, I'd stay far away from polygamy in any form. It's entertaining, to say the least.

Nathan, God's prophet, tells David exactly why the child will die.:

Although Jesus grew in the womb of Mary, in the same manner as any baby, he was different from all other babies. It appears that he was not genetically related to either Mary or Joseph, for both had an inherited sin nature. Jesus was sinless, and one may reasonably assume without genetic flaw, since he was to serve as the spotless and sacrificial Lamb of God.
▪ Ever since the Creation, each subsequent life has been created at the moment of conception. Scientifically, the new entity begins at the moment the DNA of man and woman combine. This was not the case with Jesus. As a spirit and part of the Trinity, Jesus existed before the Creation of the world. In fact, John reveals that he is the Creator (John 1).
▪ Furthermore, the physical body of Jesus as born in Bethlehem was clearly a special creation of God, placed in Mary’s womb. This is the biblical doctrine of the Virgin Birth.
Thus, neither Christ’s spirit nor his body must have resulted from the DNA of Mary’s egg or from any man’s sperm. Both would have contained inherited genetic defects and the sin nature. As Scripture tells us, Jesus was truly the Second Adam. The first Adam was a special creation of God (not related to any human being), and so was the second Adam (Romans 5:12-19).
Jesus was just as fully human as the first Adam. And just like the first Adam, he had no sin nature, no inherited sin, no sinful flesh, which has always been passed from one generation to the next since Adam and Eve’s sin. He was absolutely pure and without sin—from the day he was born, till the day he died. He had to be—he was the Lamb of God, without blemish or spot, sacrificed for sins (John 1:29).

I have no active dislike of the LDS. But I do not agree with some of their beliefs. For me to dislike something, it has to be more important to me than the LDS church is. I guess I could get all righteous about it if I wanted to make the case that I thought they were leading people astray, but I am doing good enough worrying about my own soul, and have not much left for worrying about others’ souls. If you hear me being critical of certain aspects, I am merely stating what I believe to be true. It does not mean I am on some crusade against them. If others listen to what I say, and perhaps rethink their own beliefs as a result, fine. It is no skin off my nose either way. I am not going to presume to tell someone what is Truth... merely what I believe to be true.. and I admit that I could be wrong. Everyone has free will, given by God, and far be it from me to deprive them of that gift.
If it will make you feel better, I will tell you one thing I encountered when I attended an LDS church which I approved of a good deal. I noticed they had (at least at the one I attended) no preacher. Each week, different members of the congregation stood up and gave a sermon, or “bore witness”, and that is one aspect I liked a lot. The methodists did the same, back in the days I attended that church with my grandfather. It struck me more as a place where all were equal in the eyes of God, rather than some sanctimonious person telling everyone else how they should live.
On another note, I attend a methodist church. Methodists and Baptists are in dispute with each other over whether baptism means being dunked, or if sprinkling is enough. While the methodist church says sprinkling is adequate, I still did it by immersion. I felt it better to play it safe and do it in the manner which Christ did.
Glad I could help, but I got it from these brave Christian warriors that have the patience to continue to deal with this stuff on a daily basis.

Sunday's two conference sessions featured 15 sermons on a variety of gospel subjects, including tithing, revelation, prayer, the role of the Twelve apostles, spiritual rebirth, the role of mothers, true religion and more.
President Monson described the messages delivered at conference as "rapid fire," containing a "smorgasbord of faith, love and counsel. ... Let's incorporate it in our lives," he urged.
He asked parents to "show love to your children" and stressed better temple attendance as a way to increase spirituality.
Elder D. Todd Christofferson, sustained Saturday as the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve, told church members Sunday morning that spiritual rebirth "originates with faith in Jesus Christ." He said most people looking for a spiritual rebirth experience "a mighty change of heart" gradually as a spiritual journey, rather than as a sudden, dramatic event. Even so, "Let us not justify ourselves in a casual effort. Let us not be content to retain some disposition to do evil."
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf spoke Sunday morning about the "Faith of Our Father." He said such faith goes beyond the sacrifices of valiant pioneers who settled in the Salt Lake Valley, or personal family heritage. He spoke to those who hesitate to join the LDS Church because they feel they may disappoint family members.
President Boyd K. Packer of the Quorum of the Twelve addressed the role of that group during Christ's original ministry and in today's restored church.
"We do not hear the priesthood keys being exercised in other Christian churches," he said. "It seems odd that we are described by some as being non-Christian when we are the only ones who have the authority and the organization that (Christ) established.
"The present (members of the) Twelve are very ordinary people. They are not, as the original Twelve were not, spectacular individually, but collectively the Twelve are a power."
After addressing characterizations during the October 2007 conference that LDS views of the Godhead make the faith "non-Christian," Elder Holland said a second claim of critics — that true Christianity has a "closed canon" of scripture — is not supported by scholarly evidence.
Latter-day Saints claim continuing revelation and an open scriptural canon, and careful study of the history of how scripture has been obtained supports the conclusion that God speaks to the faithful of all ages, Elder Holland said.
Elder M. Russell Ballard spoke specifically to young mothers on Sunday afternoon. He suggested ways to help reduce the stress of caring for young children: enjoying the journey, avoiding overscheduling family members, finding time for oneself to cultivate personal interests, and building spirituality through prayer, study and teaching children gospel principles. He told parents to "take time to listen, to laugh and to play together."
Elder Sheldon F. Child of the Quorums of the Seventy said, paying an honest tithing will be the best investment you will ever make.
Sunday afternoon, Elder Craig C. Christensen of the Quorums of the Seventy said the Book of Mormon was a book with a promise.
