Armed policemen in Zimbabwe have prevented lawyers from the opposition MDC from entering the high court to file a petition on the presidential elections.
Lawyer Alec Muchadehama said the police had threatened to shoot them.
The MDC wants the court to force officials to release the result of last Saturday's poll. It says its leader Morgan Tsvangiai won the ballot.
His opponent President Robert Mugabe's Zanu-PF party has said it will back him if a runoff is called.
Reuters news agency said the police apparently came from presidential offices across the street, telling the lawyers no one could enter the court.
Another opposition lawyer, Andrew Makoni, later said the hearing originally scheduled for 1200 local time (1000 GMT)-had been postponed until Sunday.....

They have obviously borrowed quite a few ideas from President Mugabe, a favorite exemplar, notably their celebrated Kelo decision.
Those of you who are tempted not to support McCain for President might consider whom the Democrats would love to place on the Supreme Court, should they seize the Presidency.
Remember: Leftists--and the Democrat Party is their Political Machine--LOVE brutal dictators. The Stevens-Kennedy-Souter-Ginsburg-Breyer Axis is a good example.
The stage is being set for the next bloodletting in Africa. This is classic left wing totalitarianism; replacing a system that had economic disparity with one of universal and indiscriminate suffering and violent death.
What makes you think they will not get to do exactly that when Juan amnesties 30 million illegals that will vote Dem?
"What makes you think they will not get to do exactly that when Juan amnesties 30 million illegals that will vote Dem?"
An excellent question. You make an excellent point, TL, and one that concerns me too.
I think they will if 30 million illegals become U.S. citizens and vote Democrat. McCain might do that. The Democrat nominees will definitely do that. Is there any other alternative?
With McCain we have a fighting chance. With Democrats in the White House and a congressional majority, we nave NO chance.
We must vote Republican. We have a good chance of electing Republican majorities in both houses of Congress, but not if we refuse to vote and, by default, vote Democrat.
I don't know why we're not funneling weapons to those that would oust this socialist dictator? Instead they are showered with humanitarian food aid that keeps the people from rioting.

That is our only chance and that is some really shaky ground isn't it? Well, we blocked three major pushes for McCain Kennedy amnesty and two or three more "stealth" and "mini" amnesties from others. I suppose we are stuck with continuing to block try after try until the individual States run the illegals off. The feds sure are not going to do it.
As far as McCain not pushing for yet another amnesty as President, I do not believe his CPAC speech for one second.
