Cyclist Tammy Thomas convicted in steroids case

SAN FRANCISCO, (AP) -- A San Francisco jury has found former cyclist Tammy Thomas guilty of lying to a grand jury about her steroids use.
The first person in the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative investigation to go to trial, Thomas was convicted Friday of three counts of perjury and one count of obstruction of justice. The jury acquitted her of two counts of perjury.

Well, Bonds still might be harder to prosecute. Symptoms of testosterone overdose would be much more obvious in a woman than in a man. She should have suspected that someone was slipping something into her drink if she was having to shave her face!

Heavy duty 5 o’clock shadow on that one.You're not just joking - read the following excerpt from The New York Daily News' article on the case (pre-conviction):
"For a week, the government has summoned witnesses with lurid tales of Thomas’ alleged steroid abuse - the beard Thomas was in the middle of shaving when a drug-testing officer came to her door for an unannounced test, or the time she traded an expensive racing bike for muscle-building drugs because she was low on cash."
The article is interesting and worth reading. Apparently, this hurts Tammy "Thomas" Thomas in more ways than one: (s)he has been going to law school, and has been even studying (presumably) bar exam preperation flash cards during the trial. Now with a conviction, nobody would ever hire her for a law firm.
What a dumb corrupt jock. Good riddance.
