On March 26, 2008, surgeons at UC San Diego Medical Center removed an inflamed appendix through a patient's vagina, a first in the United States. I didn’t think this sort of procedure was anything new as they’ve been doing hysterectomies like this for a while.

Mine was removed 7 years ago and nothing left but a 1/4” scar. Of course listening to the two gals talking to themselves while I was in recovery for an hour was fun. (It was an emergency removal)

My Mother had gall bladder surgery maybe 50 years ago. It was major surgery and it took her a long time to recover. I had the same a couple of years ago and they did it as an outpatient and let me go home a couple of hours after the surgery.

Now I wasn't feeling like playing a set of tennis but really nothing compared to how they used to do it. They really are improving some types of surgery.
