Dozens of prominent evangelical leaders have endorsed a statement declaring a fact that many Christians already hold to be true that Jewish people need the Gospel and Jesus Christ to receive eternal life.
The statement, sponsored by the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), expressed friendship and love for the Jewish people, but unapologetically declared that salvation comes only through Jesus Christ.
We want to make it clear that, as evangelical Christians, we do not wish to offend our Jewish friends by the above statements; but we are compelled by our faith and commitment to the Scriptures to stand by these principles, read the evangelical statement on The Gospel and the Jewish People.
An ad with the statement appeared in the New York Times on March 28 and will appear in other major secular newspapers and several Christian magazines throughout April and May.
It is out of our profound respect for Jewish people that we seek to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them, and encourage others to do the same, for we believe that salvation is only found in Jesus, the Messiah of Israel and Savior of the World, the statement continued.

Everyone needs Jesus, whether Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, etc.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict would end quickly, if they all accepted Christ. Just my $0.02.
John 14:16
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Well, duh.
This has been the teaching of orthodox Christianity from its inception.
Judaism does not.
Well, there are also wars between Christian nations...
But as a Christian I also pray for the conversion of the non-Christians. Look at the Messianic Jews... Jesus is the perfection of Judaism. Jews don’t have to give up their identity and culture when endorsing Yeshuah, (anyway most American “Jews” have thrown away their Judaism anyway... so those liberal JINOS, who are first to scream “bigot” should be the last to complain).
Amen, I will testify to that./Just Asking - seoul62......
“...declared that salvation comes only through Jesus Christ.”
The one who would be most offended by that statement would be Jesus Christ.
I would submit that by the amount of abuse the Jews take they are hard to offend and the Arabs should thank the goat breeding, child molester they worship that fact.
Odd, since He's the one who said it.
He was a Messianic Jew, he was a practicing Jew that believed that Jesus was the son of God who died for our sins and was raised as a promise of our resurrection. I told him that that made him a Christian. He corrected me that no he was Jewish, a gentile that believes in Christ was a Christian.
I think I understand the distinction now.
LOL!
Jesus is the perfection of Judaism. A Messianic Jew is a complete Jew. Their Jewish brethren hopefully find out that aswell.
Obama agrees that Jesus isn’t the only way. It’s the way for him but there are other ways for other people he says.
Of course, following Christ could and will cost all!
There will be no ‘peace’ until the Prince of Peace Himself re-establishes His Kingdom as His Word promises, and rules from Jerusalem as foretold in prophecy.
The majority of Jews are still looking for the Messiah, which is why they will be so utterly deceived when the counterfeit Christ, which is the Antichrist comes on the scene, proclaiming himself to be God.
The Abomination of Desolation will convince them of their folly, I predict.
I fully expect and believe that I will live long enough to see the King of kings and Lord of lords literally return to the Earth, and perhaps sooner than anyone dares hope.
It’s what I live for.
“Jesus is the perfection of Judaism. A Messianic Jew is a complete Jew. Their Jewish brethren hopefully find out that aswell.”
Well, excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me, if I take exception. That is your belief. I believe a complete Jew is one who studies and keeps the Torah as given at Sinai. To a Jew who believes in the Torah, belief in Jesus is antithetical to the Torah.
I have said here at FR many times, I fully respect and even admire sincere believers of other faiths (well, OK, except sincere believers in the Islamic death cult). But I take exception when some folks take it upon themselves to preach what I’m doing wrong. Why isn’t it enough for some folks to simply live within their own faiths without telling others what they should believe?
If you ask Jewish scholars, they would say that Jesus was just one in a long line of Jews and others who felt themselves anointed.

As long as gentiles follow the Noachide laws, then Jews are content that they are doing all God demands of gentiles. How they do it is unimportant. Otherwise Jews have no reason to confront gentiles on their beliefs, and it is a good policy to do so, as it avoids strife.
