(April 2) - An Atlanta, Georgia, judge who ordered white lawyers out of his courtroom so he could lecture African-American defendants called that decision a "mistake" Tuesday night.
Judge Marvin Arrington says he is fed up with the defendants he keeps seeing in his courtroom.
"In retrospect, it was a mistake," Judge Marvin Arrington told CNN. "Because my sheriff said to me, 'Judge, that message should be given to everybody' -- 'Don't violate the law, make something out of yourself, go to school, find a role model, somebody that will help you advance your life.'"
Arrington, who is African-American, is a judge in Fulton County, Georgia, which includes the city of Atlanta.
He said he got fed up seeing a parade of young black defendants shuffle into his courtroom and decided to address them one day last week -- out of the earshot of white lawyers.

While wrong, wasn’t all that bad. He lectured them on what they were doing wrong, more judges should do that. THey just should do it to every color not just one. Judge has heart in the right place.
Imagine the s***storm that would have be started if it was a white judge who did this...
you know it seems racism by blacks is more worse than I thought.
thjis racism will only keep going on and getting worse when the media and others say enough is enough and use the words racism and racist when it is needed regardless of colour

It’s ironic how so many judges show so little good judgement. Too many bloviating fools in black robes out there.
Okay, so who on this forum DOESN’T want to kick the white lawyers out... ?
yes imagine the outcry from black groups and sharpton etc , imagine the media, and imagine the liberals
But wait we won’t hear anything from them as blacks being racist is acceptable in the democratic party, in the mddia and by the likes of sharpton
see it would have been white mans fault for him saying this
If this was a white judge it would be wall-to-wall coverage until he/she was hounded out of office.
Actually, we do have a black Federal judge -- a Reagan appointee and classmate of Justice Thomas's -- who stops just short of this kind of thing all the time.
Nothing to get upset about here, folks.

Is it me, or is this dude’s head totally out of proportion with the rest of his body?
There, fixed your comment.
I don’t discriminate. Kick ALL of the lawyers out.
Arrington has to be one of the black professional class in Atlanta that is tired of seeing this phenomena. I'm not keen on this - but if he wanted to talk to the brothas in a Come to Jesus mode without whites, no harm, no foul. It may not be efficacious, but I can hardly fault him.
You hit the nail on the head. My first exposure to racism was not white on black but black on white me.. Went to a Run DMC concert when I was 15 and had a group of Black Youts attack me and my friend and brother. They said “ennie meani meini moe, which white boy should go”. They proceeded to slap and hit me and my friend. Then in the 90s as I was a paramedical examiner I had to go to alot of AA houses and was treated with so much suspicion and obvious hate that it made my head spin. So yes you are right Black racism is getting worst and worst. Jeramiah Wright is not the only one teaching hate. There has to be a ton of people doing it.
I agree. I think this judge’s heart was in the right place. I see he made a mistake, but nothing he needs to be condemned for. I’ve done something like that because my heart was in the right place, but didn’t think about it completely before him. Let’s give him a break folks.
Well, since you put it that way....
CA....
Also, from the article:
He said he got fed up seeing a parade of young black defendants shuffle into his courtroom
Did the CNN author really say "shuffle?"
