Bill Clinton's tirade stunned some delegates
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | April 2, 2008 | Phillip Matier & Andrew Ross

The Bill Clinton who met privately with California's superdelegates at last weekend's state convention was a far cry from the congenial former president who afterward publicly urged fellow Democrats to "chill out" over the race between his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Barack Obama.

In fact, before his speech Clinton had one of his famous meltdowns Sunday, blasting away at former presidential contender Bill Richardson for having endorsed Obama, the media and the entire nomination process.

"It was one of the worst political meetings I have ever attended," one superdelegate said.

According to those at the meeting, Clinton - who flew in from Chicago with bags under his eyes - was classic old Bill at first, charming and making small talk with the 15 or so delegates who gathered in a room behind the convention stage.

But as the group moved together for the perfunctory photo, Rachel Binah, a former Richardson delegate who now supports Hillary Clinton, told Bill how "sorry" she was to have heard former Clinton campaign manager James Carville call Richardson a "Judas" for backing Obama.

It was as if someone pulled the pin from a grenade.

"Five times to my face (Richardson) said that he would never do that," a red-faced, finger-pointing Clinton erupted.

The former president then went on a tirade that ran from the media's unfair treatment of Hillary to questions about the fairness of the votes in state caucuses that voted for Obama. It ended with him asking delegates to imagine what the reaction would be if Obama was trailing by just 1 percent and people were telling him to drop out.

"It was very, very intense," said one attendee. "Not at all like the Bill of earlier campaigns."

Clinton the Liar upset that someone lied to him? The Clintons are losing so the race must be unfair and the media biased. It's almost too delicious!

Bill’s tantrums are nothing new. He covered them up in the 1990s. But there is some footage of him getting hostile with reporters who asked the wrong questions.

Reporters who were prevented by the Clinton’s SS from ever getting near him.

They posed no SECURITY threat but they did pose a political threat to his sham of an administration.

Some Democrats are leaving the Clinton plantation and letting the outburts slip. They still have a viable Democrat in the race.

There are also a few people willing to speak out against Obama. But while the candidacy is still TBD, no one in the party wants to speak ill of the next Democrat presidential candidate just yet.

Bubba is once again demonstrating his utter stupidity like the times he was caught in his role as sexual predator of young females.

Just my opinion, SWAG, etc but if the Clintonistas steal this nomination from Obama his supporters to the tune of 30-40% or maybe even more will cross over and vote McCain just too spite the Hildebeast. Even if she wins she loses per se.....

Clinton is behind Obama in the pledged delegate count by more than 11%.

So far, in my mind, the highlights of The Beast’s campaign have been Slick Willies numerous meltdowns, the Beast’s ridiculous sniper fire story, her stiff and phony laughter at totally inappropriate times, the times she started crying while on camera for maximum “humanizing” effect, and whenever she starts thinking out loud, saying “You Know” in every other sentence like a 15 year old school girl.

This is really good stuff. I just hope it goes on for a few more months.

Bill Clinton is going to give himself another heart event if he doesn’t take a chill pill.

I’m guessing 40 or 50 percent of Obama’s supporters will jump ship if Hillary gets the nomination. At least 20 percent of the vote Hillary has left will jump if Obama gets it.
