Our local Fox News station made a big deal about how the President was booed by fans when he came out. We heard some boos, but many more cheers.
Love the colorful Ukrainian costumes. Thanks for the Dose and reposting those fantastic toasters.
Snugs, I meant 38 for you.
The cloth runner that they are giving President Bush, is that a “traditional” piece? My brother in law was stationed in Kiev for 2 years several years ago and my sister brought me one back. I have it in a drawer, never really did know what to do with it.
Snugs, thanks so much for the toaster....I love it! Thanks for all your hard work.
My mother always used to have one on our sideboard. I do not mainly because of amount of stuff I have on the sideboard you would never see it but I suppose also because at present it is not really fashion to have one.
I suspect the Kiev tradition is very similar to the British one where they are embroidered by someone in the family either as wedding presents or something that a young adult does.
I know mum tried to get me interested in what was her family tradition of embroidery even buying me a silk kit and a pinafore with a pattern on it, it did not inspire me.
his appearance for four innings in the press box.

Another fact that I never would have known but for the Dose thread! He has a fantastic, quick wit. Rush played a clip of HRC telling a joke today, and it was painful.
Thank you! I used it as a runner across the top of my computer desk for awhile, then changed it to a Christmas only thing, since it’s red. I had put it away and just came across it this past weekend again. My sister brought herself and our mom back one also.
I didn’t see any news about how well President Bush threw the ball. Did he throw it over the plate from the mound?
DUBYA for COMMISSIONER OF BASEBALL!
Patti, I didn’t see the game on TV, but my son assures me that Dubya got the ball over the plate.
Great! Thanks for the report. Something to make me smile. :-)
