HUD - Perhaps the most corrupt, wasteful and ineffective Department in the Gov’t. Agriculture is a very, very close second.

This guy ran the Dallas Housing Authority. Take a look at the mess it is in. Recent head (I think she was the head) and husband just committed suicide. Just like most agencies in Dallas, the DHA is nothing but a bed of criminal behavior.

“And just to prove a point why government-subsidized health care is so important, this month I refused to pay exorbitant insurance premiums to the fat-cat insurance company heads who roll in the hard-earned money that we middle-class citizens are forced to pay; and once I become president, you can join me as we fight the greedy opportunist from Wall Street and extend relief to those of us on Main Street.”

I agree. These government Departments can be corrupt because they are unaccountable. Since so many government officials are corrupt, are criminals , are incompetent , and don't get done what they are supposed to get done, it baffles me how so many on the right and left keep calling for more government agencies to “save us” from some made up crises like global warming ,pollution etc, .

The only legitimate functions of the government are the military, police, courts, and border control and very limited law making. There are too many laws and these scoundrels in Congress keep taking away our freedoms and prosperity with all these laws that create more government agencies and regulations. For any law to pass there should be a 80% majority in Congress. If it is really needed then 80% of the people and 80% of Congress will be for it.

HUD’s impact on the “housing crisis” is about like the National Weather Service’ impact on hurricanes...nada. They report, that’s about it. To imply the head of HUD makes a difference on the housing market shows how stupid reporters are.

The guy - Alphonse Jackson - turned the Dallas agency around. It was made up of the old style crack infested apartments. He made people get a job or move out of new modern places that are short term places to live. And he was very loyal to GWB, which is why the RATS have been investigating him. To imply that the people you mentioned are following his lead would be to say that all the Republicans, from congress, like Cunningham, and are in jail, are an example of why we should vote for DeomocRATS...red herring.

FYI Mineta’s been gone since July of 2006.
