He lays it out so simply.

Joe Lieberman is one of the two Democrats that would be halfway palatable as President, the other being Zell Miller.

It pains me
when I find among the candidates running this year that the one, IMO, closest to the Kennedy legacy, the John F Kennedy legacy, is John S. McCain. A reformer, uh somebody
Joe Lieberman, March 30, 2008 There you have it!

Lieberman’s STILL a big government socialist, even though he has the right point of view on US sovereignty.

He says that the closest thing to a John F. Kennedy Democrat is McCain. That’s not a good thing for the GOP.

No difference between Lieberman and a RINO, and yet everytime his name’s brought up on FR, it’s like he’s a messiah.
Now I have to hear the “Draft Condi” people too. I could puke.
Are there any real conservatives left on FR?

That’s why I say he’s only about halfway palatable. Better than Clinton or Obama but still a Dem.

I agree.
To me, Lieberman is simply one of the few remaining American liberals who actually loves his country and is willing to defend it.
To: moderatewolverine
One thing Lieberman has right. The Democrat Party has been totally hijacked by the leftwing.org crowd with regards to foreign policy and national defense, the main concerns of a president.

Very few. Most left during the 2000 primaries when W was being sold as a conservative. When they disagreed, they were tagged as trolls & given the ZOT treatment.
Lieberman seems like a good guy that I would love to have a beer with. That being said, I find his big government politics dangerous and I do not want him in power.

“Are there any real conservatives left on FR?”
Very few. But there appear to be a lot of neo-conservatives on FR, as well as in the Republican Party as a whole lately, I’m afraid.
To: RonnG
Lieberman is right that the Democrat party has been hijacked by the far left (I put a lot of this on George Soros and his heavily funded moveon.org and the various groups he has set up to fund left wing campaign ads). He and Zell Miller are similar in that they believe in America first and party second. Most of the rest of the Dims believe in whatever it takes to make the party first at the expense of the country.
Big government sucks.

i sincerely doubt Lieberman would be McCains running mate. he knows he will need someone more conservative
now a cabinet post yes i see that but not a VP
if he does indeed make him his VP he will definitely sink his chances of becoming president

if he wants to get elected he will have to make some overtures to conservatives whether he likes it or not. That being said i agree he personally will run center perhaps left of center but unfortunately that is where the electorate is right now
