Grainy pornographic films made for officers of the People's Army of former Communist East Germany have surfaced in the Stasi files in Berlin.
Movies with titles like Glass Dreams, Private Werner's Big Surprise and F***ing for the Fatherland were made by a secret unit set up within a barracks of the army in Biesdorf in East Berlin.
While the west fretted about the Cold War turning hot, soldiers based at Biesdorf were measured all over to see if they were well-enough endowed to play in the blue movies that mimicked those of the west in both style and substance.
Officially, to the overlords of the politburo, pornography was a disease of capitalism that held no place in the socialist paradise behind the Berlin Wall.
Unofficially, 160 officers and men beavered away with 16mm cameras to produce pornographic movies that were shown to top brass of the army in East Germany and for visiting generals from other Warsaw Pact nations....

I once shared a cubical with a Russian guy who had been drafted into the Soviet Army during their Afghan war. Due to family connections and the fact that he had lived in Canada and New Zealand for most of his teenage years he wound up as a senior lieutenant in the GRU stationed at a radio intercept unit in the Caucasus. His job was to listen to American tanker and P3 radio intercepts and translate them into Russian.
When he was drafted he was living with is parents in Canada so he returned to the Soviet Union with and unusually large collection of current western pop cassettes. The GRU had the best dubbing cassette decks in the Soviet Union and access to a virtually endless supply of high quality Japanese cassette tapes. For two years the GRU supplied most of the bootleg cassettes sold on the Russian black market.
So the Stazi turning out porno films doesn’t surprise me. The only question is, why didn’t they have better equipment?

According to the Weather Network, it’s currently 46 degrees in Seoul. I’m guessing it’s colder where you are.

Grainy 16mm pornographic films... I shudder to imagine the quality.
Once again proof that socialism cans screw up everything, even the porn industry.
