In his March 26 speech to the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, McCain never mentioned the need to preserve American sovereignty. He could have reassured conservatives by stating his forthright opposition to Senate ratification of the U.N.s Law of the Sea Treaty, which provides for international control over billions of dollars worth of oil, gas and minerals and undermines American claims to North Pole riches. But he chose not to.
Instead, as the Washington Post put it, McCain promised a collaborative foreign policy, conducted in coordination with other nations. The New York Times said he distanced himself from unilateralism in foreign affairs.
Liberals are going to love this speech, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh said about the McCain address. He said it sounded like the global test that liberal Democratic presidential candidate and Senator John Kerry had proposed for U.S. foreign policy in 2004.
Yet, McCains new TV ad calls him the American president Americans have been waiting for. The public should not be fooled. He is as much of a globalist as Hillary and Obama.
Noting that McCain committed himself to adoption of a new U.N.-sponsored global warming treaty, which would be even more comprehensive and tougher than the Kyoto Protocol, Limbaugh said that The theme here is that theres nothing special about America, and that were not going to be able to do anything without involving other nations and making them like us and showing them that we intend them no harm and that we want to be good stewards of the planet just as they want to be good stewards.

I never in my life thought Krauthammer could be that dumb and naive to think that what McCain was doing!
Thank you for the reminder, I will be paying close attention to their website. If the nominee isn’t too much of a fruit cake, I’ll likely vote for him.
“Since you are the conservative ... go out and get 51% of the voting population to think like you, 100% on all conservative beliefs. Then you can get them to vote like you always on all issues. Then you’ll have a winner.”
I’d settle for a Presidential candidate that does NOT delight in pi$$ing on my back and telling me that it is raining.
“If you are correct then the United States is already a socialist nation and one day soon us conservatives will be in the gulag.

Don’t waste your time with Grunthor. He doesn’t have a job and lives in his mommy’s basement, and takes out his rage by spamming every (and I mean every) McCain thread on FR with his hateful pubescent feelings.
Any person with a brain knows that McCain is for personal retirement accounts, school choice, free market healthcare (one of the few to vote AGAINST Bush’s prescription drug plan), pro-Israel, pro-democracy in Iraq, pro-keeping nukes from Iran — really, this is not that difficult.
Sure, McCain has compromised with Democrats on issues like immigration, taxes, and the environment. But even our lord and savior Fred Thompson supported McCain-Feingold. McCain is certainly more conservative than, Giuliani (pro-homo, anti-gun, pro-abortion) and Huckabee (pro-criminal, pro-socialized medicine), so people really need to chill out.
But would he/she sell out POW/MIAs for a lucrative BEER distributership?
“He could not care less what we think.”
We’re voting for a President, not an Obamessiah that cares about our every feeling.
“But but but, he is a war hero and is tough on the terrists! That’s all that is needed.”
As long as interrogators don’t try to water-board them, make them uncomfortably cold or hot, or try to deprive them of sleep, while trying to extract information that could save the lives of our service members in battle.
As long as they are held in good conditions where accommodations are made for their culture and faith.
As long as they are given the same due process given to U.S. citizens and are given the same protections that legal combatants from sovereign countries who are signatories to the Geneva Convention.
Other than that........he’s real tough on terrorists. And don’t forget, things are getting better in Iraq for the poor people there. I wouldn’t be surprised if the women there aren’t burning their bras in the streets soon in protests for equal rights.

As long as that “free market healthcare” includes the status quo of our hospitals all over the country being reimbursed by the taxpayers to care for illegals. Yeah, that is some free market healthcare we’ve got going on.
But hey, he’s right there in lockstep with the type of Republicans who have no problem with our elderly citizens, including our war vets, having to live on less money a month than their basic prescriptions cost. The type whose compassion for others only includes non-citizens of the U.S.
>>Since you are the conservative ... go out and get 51% of the voting population to think like you,<<
OK, after McCain wins, leaves the border open, and pushes amnesty through, and we have 10 to 30 new Dem (or worse) voters, how will we get 51% of the vote?
>> 100% on all conservative beliefs.<<
Strawman argument. Nobody thinks that any POTUS is going to be 100% conservative.
But everyone else (other than POTUS) is 100% conservative. Conservatives are a mixed and varied breed ... of political thinker, ideologist and plain ole human.
Then its pretty much settled.
Its either stay home or vote third party - maybe Constitutionalists.
Its time to jump ship on the Republicrats.
You forgot your SARCASM tag.
These cutthroats are NOT US citizens and none of them are backed by signers of the Geneva Convention.
Sorry, I didn’t think it was necessary.
Well said, Grunthor! Conservatives know a conservative when they see one. Just look at his voting record. That is all that is needed to make an informed decision. We’ve had the skinny on McNasty for years.
Anyone who watches that blather on FOX with Krauthammer and other libs has got some serious problems. They say nothing, typical inside-the-beltway mentality. Just because it’s FOX doesn’t make it a good show. Glenn Beck is FAR more entertaining AND is closer to being a conservative than most on the tele...
Grunthor’s a patriot, unlike some on this thread. I’d stand with him/her any day. He knows what he’s talking about, and so do I. We’ve watched McJerk for over 25 years do his traitorous best to sell out the U.S., particularly on Amnesty for illegal aliens. He has the deserved rep in the Senate for being the rudest, nastiest and worst tempered old man in Congress. He is NOT “Presidential material” and never will be. His A mafia wife (who he dumped his devoted wife of many years for to marry into money) is a poor choice for First Lady. Sorry, JH, but you’re wrong on this one...
