Hillary, reassessed
By Richard M. Scaife TRIBUNE-REVIEW Sunday, March 30, 2008
Hillary Clinton walked into a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review conference room last Tuesday to meet with some of the newspaper's editors and reporters and declared, "It was so counterintuitive, I just thought it would be fun to do." The room erupted in laughter. Her remark defused what could have been a confrontational meeting.

When I read this piece this morning, I wanted to vomit.
Then, I remembered that this very same newspaper endorsed John Murtha for re-election. Not in the primary, in the general election over Diana Irey.
Of course, since I read this description of you, I'm taking anything you say with a grain of salt:
Salena Zito, a political consultant who has worked for Democrats and Republicans, lives in Mt. Lebanon, PA.
Unless those Democrats were named Miller or Lieberman, let's just say you start out with a considerable credibility deficit.
I looked at it for the third time, before I saw it! What we want to see... we do see!
Glad to laugh with you again.
I worked for Ronald Reagan, Rick Santorum and George W. Bush. Also Tom Ridge. Actually the list is too long to continue.
But really, let’s be honest, you have attitude and pre-disposition about me already. Anything that I say will have a snarky uninformed comment based on what appears to be quite the closed mind.
And really do you care what I think?
If you click onto the story, to your right are several videos from the ed board. If that does not satisfy your curiousity the entire ed board is on audio there as well. Not one thing edited out. If that is too much for you the entire transcript of the ed board is there for your reading pleasure unedited.

Sad. The Trib was once a good newspaper. Not much different than Pravda at the Point anymore.
Thanks for the ping!
Salena, why don’t you ever address the fact that your newspaper endorsed John Murtha for re-election?
Did you agree with that endorsement? If so, why? If you didn’t, did you author a piece against Murtha’s endorsement? If not, why? If you did, when was it published? Did you ever tell Diana Irey that you were or were not agreeing with your newspaper’s endorsement of John Murtha? Has your newspaper ever printed a story detailing John Murtha’s lies about the Marines being ‘murderers’? If not, why not? Have you ever published such a piece?
Why does this paper have such financial woes? Is it lack of circulation (and hence less advertising rates)? Is it that many in Pittsburgh still think of themselves as “Old World” ethnics and prefer the liberal paper?
You’re right about the Trib having financial woes. You can now purchase a subscription to the paper for $1.00 a week. 7 day delivery. I’ll tell you that the paper’s Murtha endorsement turned off their former subscribers.
Operation Chaos continues.
