Last Friday, Dick Cheney was in Saudi Arabia for high-level meetings with the Saudi king and his ministers. On Saturday, it was revealed that the Saudi Shura Council -- the elite group that implements the decisions of the autocratic inner circle -- is preparing "national plans to deal with any sudden nuclear and radioactive hazards that may affect the kingdom following experts warnings of possible attacks on Iran's Bushehr nuclear reactors," one of the kingdom's leading newspapers, Okaz, reports. The German-based dpa news service relayed the paper's story.

Polk, one of the top aides to John Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and to other indicators of impending war. The story by Okaz -- which would not have appeared in the tightly controlled dictatorship without approval from the top -- is yet another, very weighty piece of evidence laid in the scales toward a new, horrendous conflict...
I can’t vouch for any particular report coming out of the middle east but there have been a lot of coincidences going on over there recently.
It would be prudent to be prepared for something big.

I think the bigger concerns for the Kingdom are Iranian short range ballistic missiles and their uranium enrichment activities. Iran has decent, maybe even “good” short range missiles with modest throw weights. Even if they cannot develop a nuclear bomb and weaponize it to the weight limits and ruggedness required for ballistic flight... They can certainly create a number of chemical explosive “dirty bombs.” A few of these could contaminate the Saudi oil fields for years, possibly decades, of clean up.
All those wonderful new buildings in the UAE and Saudi and their carefree visitors from the abroad: targets for the Iranians.
Bush must keep time with a mighty big watch. More seriously, there is concern that the Iran nuke football is being kicked down the road for the next administration.

The entire Gulf region, including Saudi, is dead scared of Iran and I would not be surprised at all if they agreed to joint-attack or support an attack on Bushehr.

if we have war with Iran, there should be preventive detentions of leftists and war protestors. We’ve looked the other way too long while they’ve done their seditions mischief.
