Who is Odinga? Odinga is Obama's cousin. Odinga and Obama are from the same Kenyan Luo tribe. Odinga supporters are the people that are burning Christians alive, trapped inside churches ... Most of Odinga's fanatical followers are radical islamists who have pushed for Islamic Sharia Law...

... In 2006, Obama took a trip to Kenya and voiced his support for his fellow tribesman and political ally, Odinga.

Obama also directly attacked the sitting Kenyan leadership (Kibaki) calling them 'corrupt'...

... Odinga is the cat that ran on the socialist democrat ticket in Kenya and lost to sitting president Kibaki.

... Odinga has now made a deal for support with Muslim fundamentalists. A photograph copy of a Memorandum of Understanding, dated and signed on August 29, 2007, between Raila Odinga and Sheikh Abdullah Abi, chiarman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum of Kenya...

Here is a summary on the agreement which was signed:

* It pledges the support of Kenyan Moslems for Raila's election. In return, as President of Kenya, Raila, agrees to 14 actions, listed a) through n) on page 2.

* Within 6 months rewrite the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Sharia as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim declared regions...

Thanks for the ping. I guess this makes my determination to send in an absentee ballot for Ron Paul all the smarter.

>Please. do not. get involved in ethnic politics in Africa.<

Why would you say that? You appear to be involved in the politic of the United States.

African politics is messy and ethnic centered.

“...African politics is messy and ethnic centered.”

http://ajacksonian.blogspot.com/2008/01/odinga-obama-and-lack-of-courage.html

excerpts:

...In June, Raila flew to the US, where he held talks with Senator Barack Obama, one of the candidates seeking the Democratic Party ticket to vie for the American presidency...

...Industry sources say that one of the things that helped Raila make a quick buck in the oil business was a concessionary petroleum deal he struck with the Al Bakri Group where he was not only incorporated as a silent partner in the local arm of Al Bakri International...

Abdulkader Al Bakri listed as a defendant in the First Amendment Complaint suit brought by various insurance companies against al Qaeda and associated organizations and individuals. Within that suit is mentioned documents (known as the Golden Chain document) picked up by Bosnian police on a raid on a charitable front organization for al Qaeda in Sarajevo. One of the listed documents is the “Tareekh Osama” (”Osama’s History”) in which Abdulkader al Bakri aka Abdel Qader Bakri gets a prominent listing...

So, when a man like Raila Odinga is linked with Abdulkader al Bakri, you are not making a minor connection, but one directly into al Qaeda.

Such are the vagaries of making political bedfellows in other Nations...

Gateway Pundit has uncovered what is probably the original posting of the photograph at Han-Geeska Afrika Onlline.

http://www.geeskaafrika.com/komo_somalikenya.jpg

U.S. Senator Barack Obama, right, is dressed as a Somali Elder by Sheikh Mahmed Hassan, left, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in northeastern Kenya, near the borders with Somalia and Ethiopia. The area is at the epicenter of a severe drought that has hit the Horn of Africa region, after erratic and insufficient rains during the April-June season.

The image was posted to an african website in September, 2006.

I would like you to do a similar story on Mwai Kibaki or any other African leader. (Mwai Kibaki’s corruption watchdog fled to Britain for his dear life).Or are you telling me that Bush does not have links to the House of Saud and the House of Saud does not have links to Al Qaeda?

How much Oil is in Kenya? Not much (Kenya exports tourism not Oil).

Africa is led by criminals. Virtually all African leaders and major politicians are criminals who will deal with anyone who can offer them a quick buck.

Charles Taylor in Liberia dealt with Gadaffi. Mugabe is dealing with God knows who. Kabila in Congo is striking deals with everyone shady character under the sun. The Kenyan guys (Kibaki and Odinga) are marginally better than Mugabe.

You will do well to concentrate on Jeremiah Wright and his silly sermons.

You assume too much. And no, I'd rather not trust you on anything, especially when the world's knowledge is at my fingertips and I do not know your agenda.

All I do know about you is that you have taken the name of a Nigerian figure but present yourself as an expert on Kenya and that you seem determined to influence freeper thought on Obama and Kenya in Obama's favor.

Thank you for your reply.

This is the legacy of British rule. The British insisted on putting people who had little in common together first to ‘divide and rule’ and second to save administrative costs. (Most of World’s trouble spots are ex-British colonies - and that is not a coincidence).

I'm not sure what the "This" is, that you are referring to.

I assume it is correct that Odinga ran on a "socialist democrat ticket"? Is there any difference in the usage of those terms in Kenya, as we would understand them in the United States?

Would you call Kenya, "one of the most stable places in Africa"?

Is there any part of this Wikipedia biography that you disagree with: At his website, Raila lists himself as a social democrat,[18] thus making distance from his father, who was openly socialist. His party, the LDP, is affiliated to the Liberal International.

Raila Odinga receives political and military support from the third largest ethnic base in Kenya, the Luo. Further to this, there have been recent calls from the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Martha Karua, for Raila to answer allegations regarding impropriety in the purchase and subsequent sale of land on the Kisumu Molasses Plant.[19]

[edit] Signed deal with Muslims In 2007 Raila Odinga was rumoured to have signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Muslim Leaders Forum,[20] NAMLEF. Kenyan Muslim leaders denied that the MOU promised to introduce Sharia for Muslims if it won elections, but said its deal with the Orange Democratic Movement was to end the current discrimination against Muslims.

If, as is reported, Kenya is a predominately Christian nation, what effect would the introduction of Sharia Law have on the institutions of Kenya?

To the best of your knowledge is this information on Barack Obama correct: Senator Barack Hussein Obama supported his older half-brother Abongo Obama, a militant muslim leader of the Luo tribe of Barack Obama's family and campaigned for his uncle, Raila Odinga during his 2006 visit to Kenya, where the famous picture of Barack in a turbin was taken from. He briefly played soccer for Luo Union[23] (later known as Re-Union) as a midfielder.

So Bush has played dress up as well. In politics it means zero. Your evidence is thin at best.

I’m sorry, I don’t like Oby or the McCaninster but your stuff reeks of Clinton.

Buy into the Clinton garbage machine all you want this is a non-issue.

For an Aussie, Nerks has a very American attitude.

What, exactly, is your problem with World Net Daily?

Where does anyone get off telling people what questions they can and can not ask?

‘This’ refers to the fact that antagonistic tribes were grouped together into colonies which formed the basis for most modern African nations e.g. Kenya. That is the unfortunate British legacy (that most Americans are not aware of).

If an African politician describes himself as a ‘social democrat’, that classification is meaningless. There are no socialists, social democrats, capitalists or libertarians in Africa. There are only tribalists/’big men’/ethnic opportunists. Mobutu described himself as a ‘capitalist’ while Mugabe describes himself as a ‘socialist’. However, they were/are both ‘big men’, criminals and ethnic opportunists doling out favors to members of their respective tribes. They also exihibited the same criminal incompetence. There was/is no distinction in the style of leadership.

Odinga is a Luo so his support would naturally come from the Luos. His opponent, Kibaki is a Kikuyu so naturally his support comes from the Kikuyus. Neither Odinga nor Kibaki are innocent. Both Odinga and Kibaki have their army of thugs (Kibaki has the upper hand because his thugs include the Kenyan Army and Police Force).

Those of us who know Kenya are aware of the fact that Obama worked hard to secure a peace deal between Kibaki and Odinga. (Kofi Anan and Jakaya Kikwete were also instrumental in securing the peace deal).
