God Bless Our War Hero John McCain
March 28 2008 | jveritas

Posted on 03/28/2008 4:39:44 PM PDT by jveritas

Today John McCain campaign released a very powerful and emotional ad that portrays a man who made the ultimate sacrifice to serve this greatest nation in history of mankind. I do not know how anyone cannot consider that this great man will be great commander in Chief when they see the footage of him in captivity and being interrogated by his Vietnamese captures. This is the man that we need to continue and win this great war against the Islamic terrorist enemy.

(View the very powerful ad here) http://blogsforjohnmccain.com/new-john-mccain-ad-mccain-624787

When he was at the lowest point of his campaign last summer and everyone wrote him out, they asked him if his low poll numbers are due to his support of the war, McCain replied “I would rather lose an election than lose the war”. Now compare this great Patriot to socialists and defeatists like Obama or Hillary Clinton who fabricated one of the most outrageous lies claiming that she came under snipers fire in Bosnia.

God bless John McCain.

God bless America.

McCain For President.

[Also, he SEETHED for YEARS when he did not get the nod]

Yes, he has a bad temper, which he will have to ‘temper’ when dealing with important matters.

Some song says, ‘what choice is left to me’ and I just can’t ‘sit out’ and allow Hillary or Obama to become President.

What we need to do is to be brave and no to allow the McCain haters to hijack this great forum.

You might want to talk to JimRob about that. You know, the guy who owns this forum.

Amen!

He wasn’t my first choice either. I wanted Thompson or Hunter. I could’ve been alright with Romney, though I didn’t like some of his past stances on some issues. I had liked Huckabee, but I didn’t like some things about his record any more than Romney’s.

I suppose I can tolerate McCain. I liked some things about him. His record as senator was a mixed bag at best. However if, and I mean if, most of the active/retired military could take him, it’s good enough for me. But some of his “maverick” behavior really made me mad at times!

If he’s going to win more Repub.s, especially conservative Repub.s, he’s going to have to knock it off with some of the maverick stuff! I like a pres. to be a little independent, and work with the other side. I know a president must throw a bone at times. But not so much that he’s sitting in their laps! In fact, he’s going to have to eat lot more crow, if he’s going to win more of those on his own side back!

We??????

I am waiting for someone,... anyone to ask jveritas who he is voting for.

Silence........?

I don’t think someone who is not a citizen of this country should be “promoting” any candidate to others and telling them to be brave.

Ok then, who should we vote for? I realize you don’t like McCain.(obviously)But so many are on here bashing him almost as much as our current Pres. gets bashed anymore.

Still, I’m asking you: who should we support? Could this “paragon” (whoever they are)win against the “other side”? We do want someone who most of us know, and who has a good chance of actually winning! So, name that person, ok?

McCain can’t win without us. (dedicated Conservatives) And there are record numbers of voters who will not vote for him. He can’t even garner more than 45% Conservatives from his own home state. He only managed to win with cross-over Democrats and independents, like he did in the primaries.

But don’t expect that to happen in the General. The bulk of those cross-overs will swing back to the Democrats. To them, McCain is just a very cranky, old, sick and tired Liberal with an R behind his name. They will pick the younger, healthier, more energetic “progressive” every time.

Far left of who? Why is it that the REAL far-leftists are always attacking him ferociously if he’s far left?

Me too. I’d have to admit I could feel a lot better about McCain if he would choose Fred to be in his administration. Hopefully as v.p., but if not, at least as a cabinet member. Attorney General would be nice! I have a feeling Fred just might wind up in a McCain administration in some capacity, if he would accept such a position!

LOL

“John McCain is a socialist.”

Figured that reply was coming.”

Sorry, I hate being predictable. But if you go back and look at his record he is not exactly a champion of conservative economic policies. The more you look at it it becomes very hard to figure out if he is just dense or willfully socialist. It is not uncommon to find military people that are socialist.

To me voting for McCain is like fixing the fence down on the farm. You got the wire up on the post and your are holding a stable. You line up the big fence hammer and just right before you begin the swing somebody yells at you or a bee flies by and you take your eye off the stable but what the heck you have done this before and you go ahead and swing. You know is it a bad idea but you do it any how.

That to me is voting for McCain; you just know it is going to turn out bad.

I guess my big concern about McCain is his pretty demonstrable lack of intelligence.

Yes, he is not smart. He is also too pro radical Muslims as revealed on another thread. His treatment of POW has shocked me. Yeah, he served in the military and I hear the only planes he shot down were US planes. Timothy McVeigh also served in the military and he served honorably. I would not describe either of them as heroes. imo, a hero would not betray his wife and support amnesty for illegal alien criminals and spread such nasty lies as he did.

Yeah, you’re right about a lot of that. Still, at this late in the game, we haven’t much of a choice now. I suppose I could live with him in there. If, and only if, he chooses a number of conservatives for his cabinet!

bump. You can start by googling the names of Col. Bud Day - the most decorated living veteran in the U.S. - who was a POW with McCain and vouches for him completely. He even has campaigned with him.

You can also add the name of Orson Swindle - who was a POW with McCain.

Sam Johnson, a member of Congress from Texas and a POW in Vietnam, has endorsed him. That’s just for starters.

Plus, the other thing I find amazing are people willing to give him a vote just because he is the least evil of the three. All the other dems, BO and HC, have to work their butts off lying and pretending and talking smack to get their voters votes, but not “our guy” he crams it down out throats and we just say, “oh, John McCain, you hate me, you hate my kind, we are racists biggots, we should suffer because we our financially sucessful, we should not challenge are elected officials 60 days before and election. we should not drive what ever kind of car we want and can pay for, we should destroy or drug industry, on and on and on, but don’t worry we are going to vote for you even if you don’t even want our vote because you do not stink as bad as the other two.”

We be fools. We should say, “kma, John McCain. If want my vote tell me why I should give it.”

You know what, there is no law out there that you have to support anyone. If there is, let me know.

I won’t vote for a man who I just do not agree with, lack respect for etc.

This time around, I am not going to be complicit in sending this country down the wrong road. If that is what people want, then so be it.

I won’t be one of those that takes the blame for doing what I know was wrong.

If we have hard times? So be it. I am not afraid of Hillary or Obama. I won’t whore myself by voting for someone who may be a little different, but equally wrong.

Do what you wish, its your life, and you have to answer to yourself. Thats harder than anything else to do. I know. I am no longer a spring chicken.

“I don’t know of a Vietnam Vets for McCain group. Do you?”

I haven’t heard of one. The dems could have info on McCain via John Kerry, which might explain why McCain defended him so vociferously against the Swiftboat Vets, an “I’ll defend you if you’ll keep my secrets” quid pro quo. The dems could also have info on him via Hill and Bill who had access to ALL classified information for eight years. The dems will let him tout his war hero cred from now ‘til about mid-October, then they’ll drop a bomb (actually several) on him.
