This is a political pitch. It should be removed immediately.

And some FReepers lap up Heath Schuler’s bull like a cat laps up a saucer of milk.

It’s a press release. The source is listed. Freepers aren’t stupid.

Yep. One doesn't have to use very much imagination to think of how ecstatic the 11th District's liberal newspaper editors must have been when Heath Shuler got elected.
Not so much because they like Heath, but because they knew he'd be Nancy Pelosi's enabler.

This actually doesn’t say anything about Heath’s charge, that McCain or his people were calling Repubs asking them to back off.
It merely says that, had Heath not voted for Pelosi, this wouldn’t have happened, or if more Dems were in favor of tightening the border, this wouldn’t have happened. All true. But it doesn’t answer the charge.

Heath Schuler: He’s going to do for America what he did for the Washington Redskins.

Heath Shuler was stupid when he was playing football. His IQ hasn’t gone up in the intervening years.

I believe that Rep Shuler scored a 16 on the Wonderlich test (I think you automatically score a 10 if you get your name correct) so let’s just say that ol’ Heath ain’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.
To: MitchellC
Exactly right, it’s a press release. It’s not news or activism but it is a direct political pitch for a spedific candidate produced by that candidate’s campaign personnal.
I think for it to remain on FR it represents a direct endorsement of the candidate by Free Republic.

Now, I wouldn't go so far as to call Heath Shuler stupid,

You think wrong.
Where were you in October through January when every side in the GOP presidential primary race was posting their candidate's press releases?

I was setting where I am currently setting. I don’t object to campaign announcements concerning rallies or speeches, but this is candidate comparison, or attack or distortion of facts, which ever fits.
It seems FR could be, under certain administrations, strong armed into accepting every press release from every candidate in any political race in the nation.

This is a political pitch. It should be removed immediately. No it shouldn't. This is a conservative site. We support conservatives here and I welcome their pitches!

We disagree. However, let’s hope we don’t support anymore conservatives like GWB.
