Yes! It’s all become the battle of the soundbites- which is part of the “culture” problem in the first place!

I’ve been disappointed not to hear more discussion about what Wright and the ensuing controversy MEANS- not just the typical he said, then what he said about what he said.

What we have here is a man who has surrounded himself with radical leftists for his entire adult life. The cleverness with which he covers this in platitudes that appeal to a thought-less citizenry is worth examining.

A big problem with the coverage of the Obama campaign is the determination of the press to cover the issue of Jeremiah Wright and Liberation Theology as a race issue. It is not a race issue, it is a very political issue. Liberation Theology proposes a revolution. Obama is promising a quiet revolution, if he is elected. He is promising a “quiet riot” if he is not elected, one which would result in a less quiet revolution is the implication.

Good read, thanks. Clinton Inc. has been exposed...Bonnie & Clyde, America's power couple, are has-beens. Mr. and Mrs. Obama, however, scare me to death. Rush had a great rant yesterday:

RUSH: If the Republican Party had a nominee who had a consistent record on conservative policies and principles, not just good here and maybe awful there; that candidate right now would be kicking the crap out of these leftists in the polls, because that candidate would be kicking the crap out of these people in the midst of their own infighting and pointing it out! That's the kind of candidate who inspires and unites.

I believe Obama is a much greater menace than Hillary- and I didn’t think that was possible.

Although you can certainly use a better the devil you know line of reasoning to favor Hillary it turns out that one Saul Alinsky baptized both Hitlery and BO into the gospel of Marxism. You can argue that Alinsky's rank as the father of all dirty tricksters makes the Democratic nomination process so entertaining.

“we’re in for the mother of all cultural battles..” We would be, if there was a republican candidate."

How true.

It's a great title and a good story but it is only wishful thinking.

The real title should be:

Republicans Are No-Show At Big Cultural Battle

What would you do if they threw a big cultural battle and your side forgot to attend?

Someone, cannot even remember who; did a poll last night on Fox asking questions as to 'what' Obama 'was'. Concluded that Conservatives/Christians and et al those who listened to Conserv.talk radio. . .had higher assumptions that he was in fact a 'Muslim'. . .which they quickly dismissed by offering 'clearly he is NOT a Muslim'.

(Greta? O'eilly? H&C? Whatever, was not following so closely here; but that was the 'gist' of it.)

it’s also true that association with leftist and academic radicalism is no longer disturbing to large segments of the country

Sad but true. Bone-chillingly ominous.

Yes, excellent title. And for certain, a disastrous story-line here.

Would enjoin all here to start e-mailing Fox News at least. . .to get on the rest of the story here.

Would offer the same MO for Repub Leadership; but who would we send our e-mails to?

Not only is ‘God’ somewhat generic; but Obama’s ‘Jesus’ is a Marxist revolutionary. (Wake-up, wake-up head-bobbers!) At least, Repub ‘leadership-so-called’ and our best in talk radio and Fox News who again; have stayed on the ‘superficial’ ad nauseum re Obama and Rev. Wright.

After listening to these autobiographical excerpts from Barack Obama’s Dreams From My Father, read out loud by Obama himself, I’m left with the conviction that, in the 2008 election we are facing the mother of all cultural battles.

Here's another part of that cultural thing...

Obama: Man of the World
By NICHOLAS D. KRISTOF
Published: March 6, 2007

Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to
prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that
seemed delightfully uncalculated [...], Mr. Obama described the
call to prayer as "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at
sunset."

It’s total nonsense. The official media position, including Fox, is that Obama is NOT A MUSLIM. Period. End of Story. And don’t mention his middle name, you bigot!

If Obama were a Republican, the official media story would be, well, he SAYS he’s not a Muslim . . . but . . . just look at all those indications we dug up that suggest he probably is.

Since Obama has proven himself to be a serial liar about these matters, I fail to see why we should believe him on this.

The Muslim connection isn't going to get us anywhere.

His advocacy of lying down with the enemy will.

I believe that this year’s election will see a greater number of disenfranchised middle class conservatives moving over to Obama for populist reasons. When I say disenfranchised, I don’t only mean politically. The cost of basics like food, gas, utilities, health care are excellerating much faster than pay. People can’t play the game and survive anymore. Every day is a struggle. They become less and less vested in a status quo where they can’t succeed. As this happens to a greater number of people, more will be tempted to jump on the bandwagon of “change” where there are promises of a “fairer” playing field.

International economics have come home to roost as the credit card buffer is all used up and the fancy mortgage bubbles burst. The tipping point is whether there is a majority making it under the current system or whether they will be enticed by the promise of greener grass.

“We have already lost, 40 years ago when we allowed the left to take over all forms of mass communication; broadcast news, newspapers, mags, Hollywood films, TV entertainment, all levels of academia, and all levels of gov bureaucracy.”

“There is no “battle”.”

There is no battle only if you decide that. If you wish to be defeatist, then left wing radicals win.
The fact that this country has changed so much in 40 years means that the changes are not set in stone. It is imperative that we not give up.

I agree- costs are accelerating and it’s tough going at the moment, you’re probably right that “change” will make a lot of otherwise reasonable people vote for Obama.

There’s no doubt that ignorance as a way of life is becoming a national epidemic and we are reaping the benefits in this election cycle.
