Anything to distract us from what's really serious.
It's a clever nickname, but I forget which disgraced politician from the Northeast is supposed to be the "Luv Gov."
Is it Eliot Spitzer, who resigned as New York's governor almost two weeks ago in the midst of scandal after he was linked to an alleged high-priced call girl ring?
Is it his replacement, David Paterson, who spent his second day on the job confessing publicly to running around on his wife while saying that she'd been unfaithful, too?
(Way to overshare, governor. And now he's giving interviews about the drugs he's done, as well.)
Or is it former New Jersey Gov. James McGreevey, who left office in 2004 after confessing to gay affairs and was last week alleged to have had three-way trysts during the marriage that ended after he came out of the closet as, in his words, "a gay American"?
Honestly, it's all gotten so confusing.
You can see why women are so drawn to men in power: They're genuinely decent, courageous and honorable people who focus above all on the greater good and will do anything to protect their wives and families from public humiliation.
Right? Unfortunately not.
There's nothing like a politician to turn sex into something that's really too icky to discuss in polite company. They're dragging us all down in the muck with them, the narcissistic monsters.
They use their wives as damage control, and even more appalling, their scandalous behavior results in panels of TV commentators speculating not only on the political fallout but also on the psychological subtleties of the infidelity at hand.

With a name like that, I can see why she’s focused on sex.
P.S. Go stuff yourself!
We all need someone we can cream on.

Americans will simply never attain the world-weary sophistication of the French. . .
O NOEZ!!
I can burp the alphabet. I’d like to see Piere do that!
LOL.
As if she (or he, as the case may be) hasn’t heard it all before.
Hey, she might be French and pronounce it Crem-ay. Or something similar.
At least one person had a clean mind.
Morality is interfering with *gasp* a big government socialist agenda! Us peasants won't forgive our leaders of their trespasses and let them fight on in the battle for the Common Good™.
LOL! She needs to change her name to Anita Clue if she can’t understand that there were actual crimes involved in most of these sex cases.
So I guess Ms. Creamer misses the fact that engaging in prostitution, on either side, is ILLEGAL.
Creamer? You brought her, you...
If you examine all leftist issues, you’ll see that the ONLY “freedoms” that they ever defend are those involving the genitals.
Everything else MUST be controlled,
but anything related to sex, even if there are other crimes involved, must be excused.
In some respects, yes. There is a striking inconsistency in leftist rhetoric. They can argue, in the same conversation, that crosses must be removed from public squares because some people are offended by them, and that parades in which floats depict Jesus being sodomized are protected by freedom of speech.
I seem to remember her being a popular actress in movies a lot of guys watched back in college.
bump
YES, it does. If the head isn’t on straight, the body won’t be either.
I found myself in agreement with a lot of what she had to say until she veered left into liberal issues like government intervention and health care.
The fixation on sex allowed Clintonites to frame the debate about the sex and not the lying under oath. The bigger issues like terrorism, campaign contributions from China and the gutting of our defense capabilities were ignored because people wanted to focus on the sleaze. In Spitzer’s case there bigger issues at play that wind up being ignored because we want to chirp on about sex.
Ignore who the politicians are screwing. Pay attention to how they are screwing us and the nation’s future.
