Gadzooks! I feel... like crap!
And I have... this really yucky discharge!
I fear it is more... than a hangover!
Guess I better... see the Doc!
First time my wife did it, she drank 32 oz. I can’t imagine doing that, but she was in such agony desperate for relief.
When I do it, I take 6 oz, an ounce-and-a-half at a time every 15 minutes. Hold your breath, swallow in one motion, and immediately drink some more apple juice. Then go lie down on your right side until the slight nausea passes.
The other thing is, you get mighty tired of apple juice way before the end of it. You’re drinking 16 oz every two hours, from 8am to 8pm. I just sip a little at the time, rather than 16 oz all at once, so I drink 16 oz over the course of 2 hours. All day long.
You do that for two full days, then do the oil on the morning of the third day. Then more juice until you start seeing stones passing. Then, when you feel able, take some plain cultured yogurt, to renew the good bacteria in your gut.
I usually add, but forgot this time: The cleanse doesn’t work in all cases. Sometimes, the stones are clustered and calcified beyond redemption.
Also, I’m not a doctor and my posts are not medical, or any other, advice.
Well, my gallbladder is long gone. The last attack was so bad that I knew what it was like to rather be dead than in that much pain. Dr. told me I could die if I didn’t have it removed. So out it went and I’ve been fine ever since.
Good on ya mate - drink lotsa liquids!!
If it turns to pancreatitis, then you could die. And quickly. IIRC, that is the real danger, not the stones in and of themselves.
But then, what do I know? I ain’t no doctor.
Welcome back to fray!!
Welcome back FRiend!
I've had two (open incision) hernia jobs, and that was probably the worst distress with the whole scenario.
Didn’t know that! Saving it for future reference.
Hmmm, saving this one too!
Prayers for your continued recovery.
Welcome back! There are less extreme ways of losing weight, you know... ;-)
Keeping you in prayer for complete recovery.
Sending this along in case you need to limber up before getting on your high horse. : )
Another thing you can oftentimes do to fend off an impending GB attack is to drink water, lots of it. When you feel the first unmistakable symptoms of an attack, drink 16 oz of water. If symptoms don’t subside in 5 minutes or so, drink another 16 oz.
I’ve never had to go beyond 32 oz total. There is a danger of drinking large amounts of water in a short time period, so I hesitate to do more than 32 oz that quickly.
It usually works for me.
Not medical advice. YMMV.
Glad to hear from you!! Will keep rooting for ya.
Thanks for letting us know. ;-)
