I think this is one of those situations that calls for mercy to be extended. The child should not be deprived of her father.

Wonder if she got cancer from dad cooking up noxious toxic chemicals in the kitchen to fund his meth selling adventure?

“But to their disappointment, the visit lasted only about 30 minutes.”

He should be grateful they let him out at all. I’m glad, though, that the system has a heart...his little girl did nothing wrong except have an idiot father.

I do think this was the right thing to do.
I wish it had been allowed SOONER and for several hours, but I guess this was better than nothing.
This had to be heartbreaking for everyone who witnessed it.
Prayers for that little girl.
Prayers that her father will honor her memory and stay clean when he’s out for good.

I see this and I’m reminded of my granddaughters who are 6 and 4 and think of how lucky they and we are to have healthy kids and good fathers. Sniff

What a tragedy all the way around. Beautiful daughter...he looks like a nice enough guy...drugs can truly be the devils work. Sad

nice they are doing this for the little girl’s sake but this guy obviously didn’t have enough of his own compassion for her to avoid meth. now they are both paying the price.

A childs love toward the parent is pretty much unconditional. What harm is there in letting this sweet little girl have her Dad, rotton idiot that he is, be there for this child?

Maybe, just maybe this will touch the Dad. However, this little girl should get to have her father by her side.

Makes you wonder why vermin like her father get to live and a precious one like the little girl dies? It is not up to us to question why I guess.

This is about the most stupid thing I have heard....the Warden MUST be a democrat.....

The father is being released in AUGUST, it was a non viloent crime and his daughter is terminal.

He should have been allowed to stay with her til the end. I am ashamed of some of the stupid things I see happen....

This pig Reverend White can to the "islands" to duck the media and this kid can't have her father with her for a few days when he is about to be released in a couple of months

We have a chance to show compassion and maybe help a guy change his life, when we have already punished him for 4.7 years.....for a non violent crime.....sometimes I think people don't even use their heads as a hat rack....

I think what upsets people the most about this is that..

Every day there are relatives who have loved ones on their death beds and they cannot afford to travel to see them.. unless, of course, they are fortunate enough to get their story told in the media and get their expenses paid for by the kindness of strangers.

For those who are too knee jerk:

these hardship furlows do not come easy.

Some judges require a surity bond be issued to guarantee the prisoner’s return.

Some jduges actually exact a price by extending the incarceration time by either the time outside OR doublining the time outside for inside time. (out one day inside two days)

AND

The prisoner is escorted and is never out of custody. Sometimes this is litterally all travel and no rest. (ie a funeral or something like that)

I would be curious on the judges restrictions.

NO child should ever have to pay for a parent's crimes--but, guess what, THE DAD MADE THE DECISION FOR HIS DAUGHTER TO PAY FOR HIS CRIMES WHEN HE DECIDED TO COMMIT THEM!

We all have our debts and obligations. The man has debts to society and to his family. He’s putting his obligations to his family ahead of his obligation to society. He only has the rest of her life to repay her the best he can, and the rest of his life to repay society. Who here would do it differently given the same choice?

If having her daddy being there at the end will make that child feel better in any way, happier in any way or do anything on God's green Earth for her then he should be there. If it's a question of cost or whatever that can be taken care of.

This is not for him, but for her.

For those that want to make sure this guy is punished I can tell you without a doubt his watching that child die of cancer would be hell on Earth. And let him go to her funeral. Seeing that little girl dead in her casket will be in his head forever.

I could list several ways I have seen people die or get killed. Guns, car accidents, heart attacks, etc. But I've never seen anything as horrible as watching a young child die of cancer. There are no words to describe it.

I will always remember you Abi, you were tougher and braver than a squad of Marines. Sweet, kind and pure of heart. You taught all of us that knew you what life was all about. Rest in Peace.

I don’t know what this website is. This is the first thing I have done on it. All I know is that I saw this article and needed to say something. I agree with all those who say that he should have been let out longer. I think that he should have been let out until either a) She dies. or b) She completely recovers. I also think that if she died and they find out it was due to the chemicals released by the dad, he should spend a much longer time in prison. I’m sorry if you feel that I have ranted on too long but that’s how I feel.
