McCain, who has struggled to raise campaign money
Heh. Not to worry - just tap into those untold millions of “inderpendent” voters.
I’m sure they will fill your coffers...

If McCain has ANY sense at all he will choose Romney as his running mate. Romney has a very good economic background and would provide balance for the ticket that is missing right now.

All together now :
“VICE PRESIDENT ROMNEY”
Hey, McCain COULD do worse.
Like Vice President Kerry.

And a lot of “I told you so” will be in the air as well.

I have never seen so little enthusiasm for a candidate in my life. Well, OK there was this guy named Bob Dole.

It sounds pretty much inevitable by this that Romney will be his VP choice. I previously said Romney was the last chance if I was going to vote Republican in the general election. (First Hunter, then Thompson, then Romney - I said, “NO McCain!”) I may end up holding my nose and going for it, though.

Romney as VEEP would ensure McCain loses.
There are only two choices.
Christoper Cox.
Or John Thune.

This is a pretty funny thread... quite the deja vu... nobody is good enough, nobody is conservative enough... if we make enough noise and keep up the whining maybe conservatives can be just as effective as they were in picking the presidential nominee. ;-)

I'm already sick of having to see mccain's buttboy, lindsey (isn't that a girl's name?) grahamnesty half-way up mccain's ass on every stop on the campaign, and now we may have to see the RINO-fest expand even further.
Disgusting, maddening, and sad (for our party and our country) at the same time.

McCain is going to need more than a good VP choice to woo back the conservatives who have abandoned him because of his actions since 2000. Something really attention getting like a catchy campaign slogan. After a short discussion with another FReeper yesterday, I would like to suggest
SAVE THE MAVERICK,
SAVE THE WORLD!
Of course, even that wouldn't get me to vote for the old reprobate, but some conservatives might fall back into line and once more take their marching orders from the RNC, especially if they think they are saving the political world from destruction by the Dems solely by a candidate who has the magic R by his name.

McCain had a fundraiser in Salt Lake City this morning. This evening there will be a fundraiser in Denver and tomorrow in Las Vegas.
