He again condemned Wright’s more extreme comments, but did defend him:

There is no doubt in my mind that what we saw in those five or six statements was a very accurate sampling of his entire repertoire. And even IF they were just isolated incidents, they are horrible and inexcusable. And still you defend him?

The first time she used the phrase was on Aug. 15 in Iowa...
