LOS ANGELES - Herb Peterson, who invented the ubiquitous Egg McMuffin as a way to introduce breakfast to McDonald's restaurants, has died, a Southern California McDonald's official said Wednesday. He was 89.

Peterson died peacefully Tuesday at his Santa Barbara home, said Monte Fraker, vice president of operations for McDonald's restaurants in that city.

I've always loved that sandwich. It's the best, and probably healthiest, breakfast sandwich you can get in fast-food.

You don’t have to eat every Egg McMuffin to know that it’s a delicious breakfast sandwich.

Wendy’s has a sausage/egg/cheese burrito that is a great value when on sale for .$99.

I often make them at home and switch around between muffins and bagels to keep from getting burned out on one thing.

Plus you can eat them hot at home. McD’s food is always luke warm; especially their double cheese burgers.

The conspiratorial financial association between Peterson and the maker of Rolaids will eventually come out.

Based on liberal propaganda, if he ate his invention, he couldn’t have lived that long.

From Wikipedia:

The Egg McMuffin is the lowest-calorie breakfast sandwich McDonald’s offers. A complete Egg McMuffin has 300 calories, versus 450 or more for biscuit sandwiches and McGriddles. Removing the cheese and margarine lowers the fat level and calorie count significantly (230 calories).

May he rest in peace, That said...”Invented”!?, What a crock! He probably dubbed the ages old, mostly breakfast sandwich with the cutesy name “Egg McMuffin” for marketing purposes of which as we know became a tremendous success. Good for him, but that sandwich has been around probably since the creation of that muffin in one form or another.
