CA: Closure of two Pechanga casino nightclubs blamed on alcohol

TEMECULA – The popular Eagle's Nest and Silk nightclubs in the Pechanga Resort & Casino have been shut down by the tribe because of alcohol-related problems.

Pechanga spokeswoman Amy Minniear says “tribal leaders have determined that an unacceptable number of incidents involving alcohol consumption” have occurred at the Temecula complex.

Details about the offensive incidents haven't been disclosed. The tribe also hasn't said what will be done with those nightclubs, saying only on its Web site that, “We are working on improving the overall Pechanga experience.”

The Silk nightclub attracted up to 3,000 guests each night.

It’s high time that ALL reservation were disbanded. Their properties should be equally distributed among their members and these people should be integrated into American society.

There is NOTHING but poverty and suffering forthose living on these reservations.

I once visited an Indian casino up near Red Bluff. We drove for over a mile on a dirt road through the poorest looking shacks I’ve ever seen. Dead cars everywhere, garbage and junk piled up around the shantys. It was profound.

Finally we reached this large new building covered with blinking neon lights and carefully landscaped. It was so bizarre...........like cognitive dissonance.

Agreed. This country within a country nonsense is futile.
Some Indians agreed with you centuries ago, too bad some just can’t see it! Now illegal aliens are using this tribal excuse to be here!

Unintended consequences, Bad policy just got worse

My Grgrgrandfather is rolling in his grave. He and many of his contemporaries (all Cherokee) were trying to get rid of the tribal system of government/courts in the 1800’s because they knew it would be a contradiction to the Constitution and national stability. We NEVER learn.

Even some Indians saw the downside of this ‘separate but equal’ justice nonsense a couple centuries ago. For the Muslims to compare their situation in America to the Indians is as bad as the Mexicans claiming they are persecuted like the black slaves were...[snip]

There was a big shooting in Temecula a couple weekends ago.

The redskins probably need to play it cool for a while.

That shooting had nothing to do with the casinos. Although it’s not wise to pick a fight with anyone in Temecula. A lot of cops from San Diego and Orange County live there, meaning plenty of armed off-duty officers who won’t take any guff, as the decedent in this incident learned the hard way.

hmm...are there are lot of DUIs and accidents leaving the casinos at night? Of course, what happens on the Rez stays on the Rez.....but I suspect a lot of under 21 drinking goes on..
